MOTIVATING A DULL AUDIENCE

ABSTRACT
A dull audience is an audience which is bored and is easily distracted. It can be bored by the
way the speaker presents their speech, noise from outside, inaudibility of the speaker or lack of
interest in the topic. However the speaker can motivate the audience through the following:

1.TELLING A STORY
The speaker can tell a story in the middle of the speech in order to make the audience active
and motivate them also.

2. USING THE POWER OF LOUDS AND SOFTS


Here the speaker tries to vary his voice so as to avoid predicament by the audience. Talking in
the same tone, bored the audience and they end up sleeping or making noise and easily
distracted.

3.ALTERNATE PACING
The speaker ought to change how they speak in order to prevent the audience from becoming
dull. When delivering important point they should talk in slow pace and if they are addressing
obvious or discussed point they speak faster.

4.INVOLING THE AUDIENCE


The speaker has to involve the audience by asking them questions or involving them in simple
tasks so as to activate them.

5.SETTING SOME JOKES


During the speech,the speaker should make some educating jokes thereby motivating the
audience.
