Dear MISS CASSIM

Your application to B Ed in Senior Phase and FET Teaching ( APK CAMPUS FULL-TIME ) for
2021 refers.

We are pleased to inform you that you have been admitted to study for a B Ed in Senior Phase
and FET Teaching in the FACULTY OF EDUCATION on APK Auckland Park Kingsway Campus.

Please take note of the following ONLY IF you have been (a) admitted or (b) placed on a waiting
list for more than one qualification:

a) If you have been admitted in another qualification as well, then it is up to you to decide
for which qualification you want to register for.

Please take note that:

i. Spaces are limited and registration cannot be guaranteed.


ii. Once you have registered for either one of your admitted qualifications, the
qualification not registered for will automatically be cancelled. Once registered you
will not be allowed to change courses.

b) If you have been placed on a waiting list for another qualification as well, then you can
either register for your admitted qualification (as per this letter) or wait for the waitlisted
qualification to be finalised.

Please note that:

i. There is NO GUARANTEE that you will be admitted in the qualification where you
have been placed on the waiting list.
ii. Registration is space dependent. Should you choose to wait for a final outcome
of the qualification you were waitlisted for, you may lose your space for the
qualification you are admitted for (as per this letter).
iii. If you are admitted from the waiting list for another qualification – please refer to
points (a.i) and (a.ii) above.
APPLICATION STATUS VERIFICATION

application status is official and binding on the University unless it has been sent by e-mail to you
from the University’s server or uploaded by the University to the above website.

REGISTRATION
· All first-year students must attend a compulsory first-year seminar. Failing to attend the first-
year seminar may lead to your space being allocated to another applicant.
· You need to ensure that you register within the specified registration period. However, please
be advised that, due to space constraints, registration within the specified registration period
is dependent on space availability. This means that if all spaces get filled prior to the end
of the registration period, registration for the specific programme will close, in other words
registration will be allowed on a ‘first-come-first-serve’ basis. Therefore, being admitted for
a programme does not guarantee registration.
· You must have the correct endorsement on your final Grade 12 results for registration.
· More information on registration will be communicated to you in a separate letter.

AGREEMENT AND INDEMNITY


· You will be required to complete, sign and submit a formal agreement (with the University of
Johannesburg) when you register.
· The formal agreement includes terms exempting the university and persons for whose
conduct it is responsible from and indemnifying them against liability arising from damages
and losses you may suffer.
· If you are under the age of 18, a parent or guardian must sign the required form.
· You will be registered on the strict understanding that you agree to abide by the Student
Charter rules, the Academic Regulations of the University of Johannesburg, the rules and
regulations of the faculty and the policies and procedures of the University as amended from
time to time.
· You undertake to pay the prescribed fees and accept that you are bound by the provisions
of the formal agreement.

DISCLOSURE AND VERIFICATION OF PREVIOUS STUDIES


It is compulsory for applicants from other universities to indicate details of previous studies
undertaken either in the current year or year(s) prior to this application.
· If you have not yet disclosed your previous studies, please click HERE and follow these steps
– log in then click on ‘Academic/Residence Applications’ > ‘Previous Studies’ > ‘View/Update
Details’. You will also need to submit your academic transcript as part of this disclosure
process OR you can email it to ujappdocs@listsrv.uj.ac.za

Where applicable, the University of Johannesburg will verify your previous results/qualification(s)
in order to determine a) the authenticity of the results/qualification(s) awarded, and b) that the
results/qualification(s) was issued in your name by said tertiary institution(s).

The University of Johannesburg has the right to a) cancel the application or b) cancel the
registration of a student, should the University of Johannesburg have reason to believe that there
was any error, or dishonest or fraudulent conduct in connection with the obtaining of the results/
qualification or in respect of the qualification certificate.
DISCLAIMER
Where applicable, the University of Johannesburg reserves the right to review the admission or
registration status of an applicant where an applicant did not:

a) Indicate details of previous studies both current and prior to the application.
b) Indicate the correct matric type at the time of application.
c) Indicate any other relevant/correct information.
d) Supply documentation that could have affected the decision process of the application.

The University of Johannesburg reserves the right to review the admission or registration status
of an applicant where the University establishes that there is an administrative oversight. In such
an instance, the University will rectify the error and communicate the change to the applicant.
