COVENANT PROJECT: NOAH

ALEX KEATING + ALEX FERO

WHO IS THE COVENANT BETWEEN?

The people involved in the covenant were Noah, his

family, and the Lord. With the sins of Adam still
affecting people, God decided to restart mankind.
God promises himself to never take such drastic
measures such as flooding again, and chose a
family that obeys and trusts him.
WHAT PROMISES ARE MADE IN THE COVENANT?
God made an unconditional covenant with Noah,
God’s promise to Noah was that he will never flood
the earth again. Gods condition was that Noah shall
not drink the blood of animals or shed human blood.
IS THE COVENANT BROKEN? IF SO,HOW?
This covenant was broken shortly after it was established due to
the incident of Noah’s drunkenness. Noah’s son Ham violated his
nakedness, leading Noah to curse Ham’s son Canaan. Noah gives
into foolish indulgence, bringing disharmony and sin back into
human family, the families relationship with God was broken.
Are There Any Signs Associated With The Covenant? If So
What Are They?
The sign in the covenant is a rainbow, because after the flood settled, Noah built
an altar for God, God sent a rainbow to remind Noah of the covenant. “Behold, I
establish my covenant with you and your offspring after you, and with every living creature that is with you, the birds,
the livestock, and every beast of the earth with you, as many as came out of the ark; it is for every beast of the earth. I
establish my covenant with you, that never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood, and never again
shall there be a flood to destroy the earth… This is the sign of the covenant that I make between me and you and
every living creature that is with you, for all future generations: I have set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign
of the covenant between me and the earth. When I bring clouds over the earth and the bow is seen in the clouds, I
will remember my covenant that is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh. And the waters shall
never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. When the bow is in the clouds, I will see it and remember the
everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth” (Genesis 9:8-16, ESV).
