Hello Musicians!
This week we are going to compose our own melodies in
Chrome Songmaker.

What is a melody?

At the end of this lesson you will be able to:


1. to compose a four bar melody on Chrome Songmaker
2. to identify rhythmic patterns from their melody composition.

NEXT
Week 2/1 Instructions
1. Go to Chrome Songmaker here.
2. Use songmaker to compose a melody following
the three rules.
a. Start and end with two red.
b. Pick blocks above the middle blue line.
c. Only one color per column (up and down).
3. Copy your melody on the next slide.
4. Don’t forget to paste your link.
a. Click save on Songmaker.
b. Copy link and paste link in box on slide 6.
Week 2/8 Instructions
1. Use the rhythm key to identify rhythmic patterns for
your melody.
a. “X” represents any letter
2. Drag the correct rhythms on top of your letter names.
3. Make sure to do two blocks at a time.
4. Note: Only choose a quarter note if your letters are
the same!
