MODULE 3B

LESSON 1
ACTIVITY 1.
1. Based on the map, what resources should you have in order to implement the LDM
adopted by your School/Division?

 Modular Distance Learning features individualized instruction that allows learners

to use self-learning modules (SLMs) in print or digital format/electronic copy,
whichever is applicable to the learner.
 Online SLM, Online activities/exercises
 Offline Digital SLM, Offline activity sheets
 Printed SLM, Activity sheets, Study guides
 Any of the available learning resources, Activity sheets

2. Do you have the complete resources for the Distance LDM needed in class? If the LRs
are not complete or not available, what steps will you take to make these available? What
are your options to substitute these missing LRs?

 No.
 Find additional resources (online or can be printed) that will augment the
unavailability of the needed resources for my subject.
 Youtube tutorial videos, other LRs that are made available from other DepEd
portals like DepEd Commons and DepEd Learning Portal

3. What support will you need to maximize the use of the two DepEd-sanctioned LR
Portals? From whom can you get this support?

 In order to maximize the use of LRDMS Portal and DepED Commons, we need
to have a curriculum support system from our own department, from our
colleagues, from our Local Government Units and from private individuals that
are willing to extend supports in the production of Learning Materials that will
provide our learners a more enjoyable learning experience.
 Technical support from those who know how to use the said portals
 IT support

4. Based on your evaluation of the materials, are they appropriate to the level and
characteristics of learners? Are there learners who might be disadvantaged by the
materials (based on reading ability, level of learning independence, level of household
support, distance)? What adjustments will you make in terms of the LRs?

 In my assessment, yes
 Based on my evaluation of the materials, most of the learning resources available
in LRMDS Portal and DepED Commons are appropriate to the level and
characteristics of learners. There are learners who might be advantaged by the
materials and there are learners who might be not and it is all depend on their
economic and financial status and within their reach. In order to adjust to these
gaps, as a teacher, it is our responsibility to address the needs of our learner. If the
learning resources provided in the portals can only served learners with gadgets
and internet access, the teacher can also offer these materials through printed
modules.
 Yes, maybe. Probably those who does not have a stable internet connection.
 I will just give the links that are accessible to students. Or I can download the
material and then upload it to messenger so that they can have a better access the
said material.

Activity 2.

1. What support can you provide to your colleagues and what support can you get from
them in terms of LRs?

I can teach them how to access the portals.

I can use some help too sometimes.

Lesson 2.

Activity 1.

1. Given the LDM adopted in your School, how can the two DepEd portals respond to your
LR needs and those of your learners’? How do they complement the LRs that you already
have?

 From DepEd Learning Portal, the materials available there were the ones that I
was using even before we were still having face to face teaching. So, I can just
send the material online to the students for them to read when they want to and
have the modules be used also when we need to.
 Both the modules written by teachers from other regions and the learning modules
that are available on DepEd Learning Portal are both appropriate for the MELCs
for Precalculus.

2. What are the challenges in accessing the LRs in the portals both for you and your
learners? How will you overcome these challenges?

 I can access both the available portals. Maybe what I can do is to download what
my class needs and then upload it on a more accessible platform like facebook
msgr.
 Since most of the learning resources can be accessed only through online portals,
it would be hard for teachers and learners who don’t have internet access to
download all the learning resources and materials. In overcoming these
challenges, the teachers should engage in downloading the learning resources
through their initiatives and printing a hard copy of the LRs to be distributed to
learners who do not have internet access.

3. What support will you need to be able to maximize the use of the LR Portals? From
whom can you get this support?

 So far, I don’t need any support but if ever I will be needing them, I will ask
support from my colleagues.
 In order to maximize the use of LRMDS Portal and DepED Commons, we need
to have a curriculum support system from our own department, from our
colleagues, from our Local Government Units and from private individuals that
are willing to extend supports in the production of Learning Materials that will
provide our learner a more enjoyable learning experience.

Lesson 3.

RAPID ASSESSMENT OF LEARNING RESOURCES

Is the LR Material... YES NO Cannot be determined

1. Connected and relevant to the /

MELCs?

2. Appropriate to the grade level and /

learner characteristics in terms of
language, activities?

3. easy to reproduce and/or /

disseminate?

4. from a credible source/author? /

5. culture- and gender-fair? /

6. free from red flags on possible /

copyright and plagiarism issues?

7. the layout and format easy to read /

and pleasing to the eyes?

Activity 1.

1. Was the material able to meet all the requirements?

 Yes
2. Were there any questions in the assessment tool where you answered
 “No” or “Cannot Be Determined”? What decision will you make on the LR
material? Why?
3. Are there other aspects of the material not covered by the tool but still need to be
assessed? Specify which aspect/s.
 None
4. How does this exercise help you in picking the right and appropriate LRs for your lesson
and your learners?
 Choosing the right and appropriate LR is not that easy, but with this activity it
helped to better assess what to pick or not learning resources. The checklist
presented above is a great avenue for us teachers to evaluate LRs especially from
Non-DepEd resources, since fake news or fake articles are rampant nowadays.
Lastly, since I’m one of the writers of one of our modules in research, this will
serve as my guide to make the module better.

Activity 2.

1. Based on the Assessment Tool, how does the material from a non-DepEd Portal compare
with the LR from the DepEd Portal?
 I think they are comparable on the approach on how they have presented the topic
and created activities.
2. Based on the result of the Assessment tool, what improvements do the materials – both
from DepEd and Non-DepEd portals – still need?
 I think they need to improve the different activities. They need to be more
creative in creating activities and enrichment.
3. How does this exercise help you in picking the right and appropriate LRs for your lesson
and your learners?
 It helps me to decide on which specific LRs I will use to my students.

Activity 3.
1. How does your material compare with the ones that are obtained from the online portals?
 The material that I have developed is based from the nature of my students. I
know the capacity, nature and behavior of my students. The LRs from the online
are based on the general characteristics of the students.
2. What improvements do you still need to make in your developed material?
 I think I need to improve my creativity in choosing the best design for my LR.
