Luke. “I remembered you had hurt your
leg. I guessed you must have brought
Lucy here. Let’s all go back to the palace
and let Lord and Lady Lipton know that
Lucy is safe,” suggested Luke.
“Oh, I couldn’t sleep last night, so I took
my lantern and went to the palace to get
Lucy. But it wasn’t yet light, and the
palace was locked. I borrowed the
gardener’s ladder and climbed up to
Lucy’s window. I woke Lucy, she climbed
down the ladder, and I carried her back
