POWER SUPPLY DIAGRAM

Check that your electric power

supply is compatible with the
characteristics of the motor. The
overload switch of the machine
is set according to the table.

C3. CHECKING THE DIRECTION OF ROTATION OF THE MOTOR

Only applies to 3-phase machines:

1. Always switch off the machine before any maintenance operations.

2. Power up the machine by connecting it to the mains power supply.
3. Observe the direction in which the motor turns through the ventilation grid. Make sure that
it turns in the direction shown by the arrow.
4. If necessary, change the direction of rotation by switching the two-phases on the motor
wiring terminal or on the jack at the other end of the power cable.
5. If the motor turns in the wrong direction, the pump will be damaged.

D. DESCRIPTION
A crimping machine is an electric machine used to crimp the ends of hoses in order to produce a
perfect seal. The ends are crimped by introducing the hose into the crimping head and closing. The
crimping diameter is determined according to the table of settings provided by the supplier of the
hose and fittings.

D2. TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS

*The machine performances apply to machines connected to a 110V 50Hz 1-phase, 230V 50Hz 1-
phase, 230V 50Hz 3-phase and 400V 50Hz 3-phase mains power supply. The performance are not
the same with a 60Hz power supply. Please contact our technical department to check that the
machine is compatible with mains power supplies different from those mentioned above.

**Working off load. This value may be higher, depending on the material being crimped.

E. PREPARATION
E1. SELECTING THE DIE SET

1. Identify the required crimping diameter by referring to the setting recommended by the
supplier of the fittings and hoses.
2. Select the die set with a diameter immediately smaller than
or equal to the required crimping diameter.

The MV 120 +/ 137 does not have a device to protect the

crimping head if an unsuitable die set is used. The diameter of
the fitting to be crimped must never exceed the diameter of the
die set by more than 12mm. Otherwise the head may be
seriously damaged.

For example, the diameter of the ferrule before crimping must

not exceed 57mm when using a 45mm die.

E2. REPLACING THE DIES

INSTALLATION

1. Open the crimping head

2. Slide the die into the groove in the master die. Take care to
insert in the right direction. The number of the die must be
visible from the front.
3. Push fully home until you hear a click.

REMOVAL – With the manual tool

1. Fully open the crimping head

2. Switch off the machine
3. Hook the extremely of the tool supplied with the machine
on the rear of the die

REMOVAL – With the magnetic gun

Die sets 4 - 56mm

1. Set the Vernier to 90 for die sets with a diameter of less

than 12, and to 50 for die sets with a diameter equal to or
greater than 12.
2. Close the crimping head.
3. Hold the gun with both hands and introduce the die into the
crimping head firmly and quickly.
4. Press the trigger and extract the gun with both hands.

To remove:

1. Set the Vernier to 90 for die sets with a diameter of less

than 12, and to 50 for die sets with a diameter equal to or
greater than 12.
2. Close the crimping head.
3. Hold the gun with both hands and introduce it into the
crimping head until the magnet touches the dies.
4. Extract the dies by pulling on the gun with both hands.
