Organization
1 Scenario 1: BBU+APM+RRU
When 220 V AC input power or +24 V DC input power is available in a new DBS3900 site and
a new power supply system is required, the BBU+APM+RRU configurations can be used.
2 Scenario 2: BBU+TMC+RRU
When -48 V DC input power is available in a new DBS3900 outdoor site and a power supply
system is required, the BBU+TMC+RRU configurations can be used.
3 Scenario 3: BBU+19-Inch Cabinet/Rack+RRU
For a DBS3900 indoor site, the BBU can be installed in a standard 19-inch-wide and 2 U-high
cabinet or rack. This is referred to as the BBU+19-inch cabinet/rack+RRU embedded
configurations.
When the -48 V DC power is available at a DBS3900 indoor site, the BBU can be installed on
the indoor wall. This is referred to as the BBU on the indoor wall+RRU embedded
configurations.
5 Scenario 5: BBU+PS4890+RRU
When 220 V AC input power is available in a DBS3900 indoor site and a power backup system
is required, the BBU+PS4890+RRU configurations can be used.
When -48 V DC input power is available in a new DBS3900 GSM indoor site, a power supply
system is required, and the BBU is installed in a small space indoors, the BBU+RRU3004 rack
+RRU configurations can be used.
7 Scenario 6: BBU+OMB+RRU
When -48 V DC or 220 V AC input power is available in a new DBS3900 outdoor site, a power
supply system is required, and the BBU is installed in a small space outdoors, the BBU+OMB
+RRU configurations can be used.

1 Scenario 1: BBU+APM+RRU
When 220 V AC input power or +24 V DC input power is available in a new DBS3900 site and
a new power supply system is required, the BBU+APM+RRU configurations can be used.
l The APM power cabinet is classified into the APM30 (with the breathable film) and the
APM30H (with the heat exchanger). The APM power cabinet supplies -48 V DC power to
the BBU and RRU. In addition, the APM power cabinet performs battery management and
also monitoring and surge protection.
l The APM30 (with the breathable film) can house 12 Ah or 24 Ah batteries, which supply
power to the distributed NodeB for a short period of time. The Battery Backup Cabinet
(BBC), if required, can be configured to implement long-time power backup.
l The APM power cabinet can provide a maximum of 7 U space for installing transmission
equipment.
l The RRU supports flexible installation options. It can be installed on the wall, pole, and
tower.
Installation Procedure
Figure 1-2 shows the installation procedure in the BBU+APM+RRU scenario.
2 Scenario 2: BBU+TMC+RRU
When -48 V DC input power is available in a new DBS3900 outdoor site and a power supply
system is required, the BBU+TMC+RRU configurations can be used.
l The TMC is classified into the TMC with the breathable film and TMC with the heat
exchanger (referred to as TMC11H). The TMC supplies the -48 V DC power to the BBU
and RRU.
l The TMC can provide a maximum of 7 U space for installing transmission equipment.
l The TMC can be configured with the heater.
l The RRU supports flexible installation options. It can be installed on the wall, pole, and
tower.
Installation Procedure
Figure 2-2 shows the installation procedure in the BBU+TMC+RRU scenario.
For a DBS3900 indoor site, the BBU can be installed in a standard 19-inch-wide and 2 U-high
cabinet or rack. This is referred to as the BBU+19-inch cabinet/rack+RRU embedded
configurations.
l The BBU can be installed in an existing 19-inch rack or cabinet. In this way, the power
supply system and the transmission system in the existing network can be shared.
Installation Procedure
Figure 3-2 shows the installation procedure in the BBU+19-inch cabinet/rack+RRU scenario.
When the -48 V DC power is available at a DBS3900 indoor site, the BBU can be installed on
the indoor wall. This is referred to as the BBU on the indoor wall+RRU embedded
configurations.
l The BBU is installed on the indoor wall. Thus, the BBU occupies a small space and can
use the existing power supply system and transmission system.
l For a 3G site co-siting with a 2G site, the BBU and the RRU can use the power supply
system, transmission system, and antenna system of the BTS in the 2G network. Thus,
operators can launch services on the existing 2G network at a very low cost.
Installation Procedure
Figure 4-2 shows the installation procedure in the BBU on the indoor wall+RRU scenario.

5 Scenario 5: BBU+PS4890+RRU
When 220 V AC input power is available in a DBS3900 indoor site and a power backup system
is required, the BBU+PS4890+RRU configurations can be used.
Installation Procedure
Figure 5-2 shows the installation procedure in the BBU+PS4890+RRU scenario.
When -48 V DC input power is available in a new DBS3900 GSM indoor site, a power supply
system is required, and the BBU is installed in a small space indoors, the BBU+RRU3004 rack
+RRU configurations can be used.
Installation Procedure
Figure 6-2 shows the installation procedure in the BBU+RRU3004 rack+RRU scenario.
7 Scenario 6: BBU+OMB+RRU
When -48 V DC or 220 V AC input power is available in a new DBS3900 outdoor site, a power
supply system is required, and the BBU is installed in a small space outdoors, the BBU+OMB
+RRU configurations can be used.
l The RRU supports flexible installation options. It can be installed on the wall, pole, and
tower.
Installation Procedure
