CASE STUDY 3

2-13
Management: It was hard for employees who work in traditional ways to use social software.
Companies should provide them incentives so that they use social software. Because many users think
that technology is not that important in jobs. But most of the companies are not providing that
incentive.

Organization: Employees work in a certain way and they are used to of doing work in that way. It is hard
for them to overcome organizational inertia. This was concluded when companies tried to establish
internal social network which proved quite difficult.

Technology: Main focus is to increase the job efficiency. Users need to connect to people that have
information they need. That is why content on the networks should be easy to access and relevant.

2-15
All companies should implement internal enterprise social networks. These systems help in increasing
productivity because they are cheaper which decreases the cost and easier to operate than other
systems. Management should encourage this change and implement social networks in the organization
and try to make it successful. Companies should give incentives as well if required as it would encourage
the employees and adoption will become easier.
