justice delayed is justice denied.

since the birth of mankind, sought the man peace and happiness the most and to materialize his this
cherished goal, he transformed himself into societies and states, having few organs necessary for its
function, sustenance and maintenance, among those organs, the governance is not the fundamental
factor nor does the media or any other but functioning, sustenance and maintenance of any state
depends upon free, fair, and fast judicial system as Hazrat Ali (R.A) said, “A country can be governed
with heresy but not with injustice.” it is nothing but Justice which keeps balance and order in a society
and gears it towards prosperity, progress, enlightenment and peace, and without it the society wears
the black shroud of darkness and anarchy.

respected sir: Justice is the hope for being to survive, justice is the lamp of light for people who are
afraid of dark, justice is the masiha for the people victimized of tyranny, cruelties and brutalities, justice
is the hope for hopeless, it is solace for depressed, it is encouragement for discouraged it is friend of the
victim and enemy of victimizer. But the same justice-the masiha can become killer, the lamp of pleasing
light can become burning fire, the hope can crush your hopes and the same helper can become your
victimizer, if it is delayed. yes, my lord, justice delayed is justice denied.

our jails are full of the shameful pictures, where boys, convicted of small and pity crimes spend their
whole lives in waiting to be heard., those innocent guilty people are slap on the face of our judiciary
system who face the hardships of jails for golden years of their lives and are proven guilty after many
years of torments. Those poor girls are dirty stain for the honors of my honors who are raped
mercilessly, they knock the door of court for justice but they are shown the closed door to be raped
again.... they are shown, here justice is delayed, they are shown here justice is denied.

the wheels of justice as the saying goes, grind slowly but grind exceedingly fine but In the Pakistani
context, it would be no wrong to say that they grind so exceedingly slowly that there can be nothing fine
about the outcome. ours is the judicial system in which everything is delayed, petitions are hired but
adjourned, criminals are caught, adjourned, convicts are trailed adjourned, they know nothing but to
adjourn they do nothing but to delay... here justice is delayed, here justice is denied.

The proof of the failure of the judicial system can be estimated by the presence of a huge pile of cases
pending with both lower and superior judiciary. the stats are alarming and shout the delaying of justice,
they prove the denial of justice, it is speculated that there are 1.1 million cases pending with the lower
courts; about 1, 50,000 cases are yet to be heard in the high courts; and nearly 17000 cases are to be
heard in the Supreme Court of Pakistan. According to the report of International Crisis Group (ICG),
released in 2010, it would take more or less between 10 and 20 years to dispose of these cases, and not
to forget after 10 years there will be thousands of cases more to be heard, alas! these millions have
been failed to provide with justice, alas! justice is delayed, alas! justice is denied...

The litigants are mostly illiterate people and our justice system affords no opportunity for these poor
souls to get cheap justice and as a result, they are fleeced by lawyers who capitalize on any opportunity
to mint money, they are toyed by judges Through continuous and nagging adjournments, the cases are
drawn to such an extent that the original petitioners generally pass away and their descendants follow
these cases endlessly.

as it is said, injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere, when justice is delayed the failure of
judiciary starts. As a result, society plunges into anarchy it gets plagued with extremism, terrorism,
lawlessness and sectarianism, poverty is enforced, ignorance prevails, people handover their decisions
to local panchaets and ask them to provide them with psuedo-justice, People take law into their own
hands to punish the criminals, people are lynched in streets, burned in their homes, butchered in front
of all but not a single soul objects, because the one to object has delayed the justice, the one to object
has denied the justice..

Failure of judiciary is not just limited to the mob violence, taking law in hand, lynching, killing and
burning people, it has paved the way for increasing incidents of terrorism. So far, many terrorists have
been acquitted from the courts owing to the absence of either eye witness or evidence, so the attacks
on Mehran Base in Karachi, assault on GHQ in Rawalpindi, intrusion on PAF in Chaklala and invasion on
Peshawar Airport indicate that terrorists have become emboldened. They know that even if they are
caught, they will be released by the authority concerned. they know here justice is delayed, here justice
is denied.

when justice is delayed and denied everything becomes blur, everything becomes dark, yet there is
always the time for repairs, yet it is never too late to mend, yet crutch can be provided to the justice by
consolidating by assuring concrete steps are taken to provi de people with free, fair and fast justice, by
assuring that justice is not delayed, by assuring that justice is not denied.
