COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course is a continuation of the first installment that we finished previous semester: FM I.
Students still struggling with FM I will find no solace in this course.
The syllabus of FM II is designed to advance student’s understanding and problem solving skills
to more practical fluid-engineering problems like duct-flows, open-channel flows, immersed-
body flows and turbomachinery.
It involves important theoretical, experimental and computational aspects, concepts and notions
of boundary layers, similitude, flow regimes, forces on immersed bodies and turbomachinery
design approaches. These concepts comprise the bulk of the course and, along with their
applications, are the main elements tested in the examinations.

COURSE ASSESMENT:
The course will include two One hour tests during the semester. In addition quizzes at the end of
each module may be set. A comprehensive final examination over the all module, of at least 3
hours duration, will be set at the end of the course. Evaluation will be competency based and
student grades will be based on the following factors.
Quizzes 20%
OHT Exam 30%
Final Exam 50%
Total 100%
