Update of V100R002C10&V100R002C00SPC810 Compared with

V100R001C30SPC200

Feature Name Update Type Description

ASON
New The ASON, the automatically switched optical
network, is a new generation of the optical
transmission network, or called ASON optical
network. To support ASON, you must purchase
an ASON license.

PID
New On a WAN, a 200G/400G aggregation ring
based on PID boards (NP400 and NP400E) only
is recommended, eliminating commissioning
while enabling quick service provision.
Feature Name Update Type Description

ERPS
New Based on the automatic protection switching
(APS) protocol and protection switching
mechanism, Ethernet ring protection switching
(ERPS) defines a protocol for Ethernet ring
protection. ERPS is applicable to the Ethernet
ring topology at the Ethernet Layer 2, and
provides protection for E-LAN services on an
Ethernet ring.

LMSP (OCS)
New Using TDM boards and line boards, the LMSP
provides dual-feeding and selective receiving to
implement protection switching and protect
services. The LMSP supported by OptiX OSN
equipment adopts the 1+1 single-ended
switching mode.

SNCP
New Sub-network connection protection (SNCP) uses
TDM boards and line boards to implement dual
feed and selective receiving and protection
switching for protecting inter-subnet services.

IP over DCC
New In the IP over DCC solution, NEs use unified
DCC channels to transmit the TCP/IP protocol
packets, enabling the U2000 to manage them.
The IP over DCC solution can be applied on a
network that consists of OptiX transmission
equipment and third-party equipment that
supports the IP over DCC function, as well as a
network that consists of only OptiX transmission
equipment.

Inband DCN
New Inband DCN implements network equipment
management using service channels provided
by the managed equipment. Network

management information is transmitted over

service channels.

QinQ
New QinQ is a Layer 2 tunnel protocol based on IEEE
802.1q encapsulation. The QinQ technology
encapsulates a private virtual local area network
(VLAN) tag into a public VLAN tag. Therefore,
the packets with two layers of VLAN tags can be
transmitted on the backbone network of a
carrier. In this manner, QinQ provides Layer 2
virtual private network (VPN) tunnels.

IGMP Snooping
New In a MAN where multicast services (for example,
IPTV) are deployed, the Internet Group
Management Protocol (IGMP) Snooping
protocol is usually used on the Layer 2 network
to enhance the management of multicast
services and therefore to prevent a bandwidth
waste caused by multicast video streams at the
Layer 2 network.

IP Packet Coloring and

Statistics Collection
New IP packet coloring and statistics collection is a
technology for collecting statistics on IP
network performance. The technology
implements precise end-to-end or segment-
based packet loss measurement for IP packets
by marking service packets.

Product Specifications
Modified Added the support for VC service grooming and
the SDH service license.

ROADM
Modified Added the 20-degree ROADM grooming
solution.
Feature Name Update Type Description

Intra-Board 1+1
Protection
Modified The LDX board newly supports intra-board 1+1
bidirectional switching by interoperating with
the OLP/DCP/QCP board. Bidirectional
switching indicates that protection switching is
performed at both the transmit and receive
ends for a bidirectional service, so that the
bidirectional service is always transmitted and
received over the same route.

ODUk SNCP
Modified SNC/I, SNC/S, and TCM-layer SNC/N SNCP
protection are supported for ODUflex signals.

MC-LAG
Modified ETH-carried MCSP channels are newly
supported.

Modified Extended IPA is added. When the system
control board in the master subrack fails, the
IPA function is still working to improve system
security.

CES/CEP Services
New The CES/CEP helps to solve the problem of
insufficient optical fiber resources in the access
ring and allows TDM services to be
transparently transmitted across the pure
packet mode.

LMSP (Packet)
New The linear multiplex section protection (LMSP)
uses the K1 and K2 bytes in multiplex section
(MS) overheads to achieve automatic protection
switching, providing protection for AC-side
links. LMSP is mainly applicable to the scenario
where the OptiX OSN 9800 and radio network
controller (RNC).

MC-LMSP
New The multi-chassis linear multiplex section
protection (MC-LMSP) supports that the

working channel and protection channel of the

LMSP are configured on different devices to
achieve protection for AC-side links between
devices.

TDM PWE3

on a packet switched network (PSN) by using
the PWE3 mechanism, so that the emulated
TDM services can be transmitted on a PSN.

OTN Overheads  Added the support for OTUCn, ODUCn, and

synchronization source exceeds the
permitted range so that quality of the
physical-layer synchronization source
deteriorates.

6.8.1 Signal Flow
This topic describes the signal flow of an REG node.

The signal flow of an REG node is similar to that of a back-to-back OTM node,
except that no signal is added or dropped at the REG node. Signals are regenerated
through a line board.

In the receive direction:

 The received line signal is separated into an optical supervisory signal and a main-
path optical signal. Then the optical supervisory signal is sent to the OSC board for
processing.
 The main-path signal is sent to the demultiplexer boards after being amplified and
is separated into individual wavelengths. The wavelengths are sent to the line
board where they are reshaped, re-timed, and regenerated after being converted
into electrical signals. Then the regenerated signals are converted into wavelengths
and are sent to the multiplexer boards. The multiplexer boards multiplex the
wavelengths into the main-path optical signal and sent it to the amplifier board for
amplification. Finally, the amplified main-path optical signal is multiplexed with
the processed optical supervisory signal for line transmission.
The signal flow in the transmit direction is the reverse of this process.

Figure 1 and Figure 2 show the signal flows of example 80-wavelength REG nodes.
 Regeneration boards
Regeneration boards are used to directly regenerate signals.
 Line boards
 Line boards with the regeneration function are used to directly regenerate
signals.
 Two line boards without the regeneration function are interconnected and
electrical cross-connections are configured between them to regenerate signals.

the regeneration function)

function)
