The Lesson of My Life

The greatest men of all time have told stories. Their success stories, their life
stories, and a few others of the same sort. But the most important things to pick up
are the lessons behind those stories and how they incorporated those lessons into
their lifestyle to become who they are. Same lessons I’ve learned.

My father had a very good friend who was like a father to me. His name was
Omasco. Funny name right? He carried me as a child, gave me advice, cared for me
when my parents were away, and a whole lot more; Just like a second dad. Things
were pretty smooth between my family and him for a long time. He had been best
friends with my dad for over thirty years and I was just twelve.

Omasco lost his job in a large oil frim just before I went into the eighth grade. My
dad owned three companies but not as large as the one his friend got fired from. Of
course, he offered him a job as one of the managers of a dredging company he had
in Delta. We lived in Lagos and Omasco lived in Delta. So he was basically running the
operations of that company as the boss. My dad had complete faith in him because
of his work experience and also because of their friendship.

Eventually, the Nigerian economy began to dwindle and the oil and gas sector
wasn’t so profitable during that period. My dad had responsibilities and huge ones at
that. I was in one of the most expensive secondary schools in Nigeria and I had four
other siblings at the time. My dad had to depend on his other large investments in
which the dredging company was the largest. So my dad moved over to Delta to see
how his business was doing. It was doing fine up till then. The returns were just good
enough. Well good enough until he really needed the money.
At the time I was supposed to go back to school, the same time of the year all the
bills start coming in, some customers requested a dredger in Calabar. Calabar is quite
far from Delta so the fee had to be more. My father agreed on terms with the
customers at the required rate but for some reason, Omasco kept on appealing for a
lower rate. Eventually, my dad agreed, but was still skeptical, given the fact that
Omasco had been in the business with more concentration for a while. The deal was
going quite smoothly until the time for payment. The customers started making
complaints in regard to the confusion of who to pay to and how much to pay. It was
in the course of this that the agents of the deal opened up to my dad. Omasco had
arranged that the amount that my dad was going to let go was to be paid to him.

I was in Calabar with my dad the whole time and I witnessed everything first hand.
It was supposed to be a pleasant father and son time before I went back to school
but things turned out differently. There was too much focus on work rather than
pleasure. I saw how disappointed my dad was when he lamented about how people
could easily betray you for so little. “I could give him anything he asked me for apart
from my wife,” he said in awe. I was there when he said his last words to his best
friend. I saw it all.

At the end of the day, in life, you can never really completely trust anyone. I had to
learn to be very careful with people in order to reach my desired level. Wish the best
for all and expect the worst in return. The lesson of my life.

Lady in the Dark

It was a normal after-school-going-home time where we will be coming home late
because we are going to eat dinner in some restaurant or fast food. As we went to
our gate where my father went directly to the lock of the house trying to unlock it.
When I notice a woman standing directly to us 8 meters apart.
I instantly poke my mother and told her with a soft voice, As I said “ Who is that
mom?” I also pointed out the direction where the person or maybe a creature is
where it's at. As she aghast from what she saw but also had the courage to ask the
person and said “ What are you doing right there? Hi Clarita, how are you? If you are
wondering who is Clarita, Clarita is the owner of the house where the lady is where
at so my mother may be implying that the person who is standing is Clarita. As a
minute passed by I’m starting to see what it is or who it is because way back earlier it
is a blurry and unilluminated part of our street. As I described it, She’s a lady where
her skin is pale as the pearl in the sea and clothed herself with white linen where it’s
like a nightgown. She didn’t move or say anything after my mother aforementioned.
As my father finally opened our gates we abruptly went inside our house. My
mother told my father everything and I went to the balcony to check if the person or
the creature is still there. I was astonished by what I saw because she was still there
but as I tried to go inside and go outside again to test my vision and then suddenly
she’s already gone, I mean there is no hiding spot in the place that she was, I went
directly into my mother again and also my father of what happened.
As the morning rises, I casually went downstairs to eat breakfast and my mom
greeted me with an agitated face and said “The lady in the dark is the woman who is
pregnant and died because of the failure of getting the baby out if you’re wondering
where is the baby, It also died along with her mother.

Water Drop Tea House: A Convenient Dining Place

The aroma of various foods from fast-food restaurants like McDonalds and
Jollibee is one of the factors that make most of the Filipinos especially the youth
crave for it. Unfortunately, some Filipinos do not have any idea how much
preservatives various foods like french fries from fast-food restaurants contain.
Preservatives are not good for people’s health because it weakens the body slowly.
On the other hand, eating in a vegetarian restaurant, for example, the Water Drop
Tea House inside the Mabuhay temple which is located at 656 Pablo Ocampo St.,
Malate, Manila Philippines is obviously healthier than fast-food restaurants like
Jollibee and Mc Donald’s. The Water Drop Tea House is established to offer services
for other people who are looking for a convenient dining place and peaceful sound.

The café in Mabuhay Temple is a convenient dining place. As I enter the Buddhist
Temple, I bow to Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva above the wishing pond on the left side
of the stairs. As I continue walking, I see the big smile of the receptionist joining her
palms and saying “OMITUOFO”.  I return her big smile with my sweetest grin.
Gracefully walking to my favorite restaurant, I see already the huge thick crystallized
wall that indicates the Water Drop Tea House. As I open the enormous door, I
already smell the french fries that make me drool. As I sit at the feather-like chair
which is purely 100% cotton, I feel very relax to the extent that I am about to sleep.
However, as I anticipate the menu on the table, I see the list of different food that
Tea House sells. The café offers vegetarian food like Adobo Rice Topping, Dumpling,
Wanton Noodle Soup, and Hong Shao Noodles which cost from ₱100 to ₱180. In
addition, there are also mouth-watering appetizers such as French fries, Stewed
Tofu, and Veggie Chicken that cost from ₱60 to ₱80 only. The café also sells
beverages like Hot Lotus Tea, Hot Milk Tea, Water Drop Iced Coffee, Iced Winter
melon Tea, and others that can be bought for as low as ₱120. I choose to order
French fries and Iced Winter Melon Tea for my afternoon snack.
Inside the Tea house, I find a peaceful sound filled with different kinds of
souvenirs and books. While I am waiting for my order, I listen to the tranquil music
that is calmly playing inside the café. Since there are books and souvenirs inside the
café, visitors like me take a glimpse of those things. Some of the books that are
available in the Tea House are 365 Days for Travelers, The Four Noble Truths: The
Essence of Buddhism, The Buddhist Perspective on Life and Destiny, and one of the
latest books in Buddhism, Sakyamuni Buddha. All of these books are written by an
old compassionate guy, Venerable Master Hsing Yun. The Tea House also sells some
Buddhism-related displays like colorful Buddha’s figurine, fragile lotus flowers, and
heart-rending Chinese books. Likewise, there are also teacups, jars, and mugs inside
the Tea House that are displayed beside the counter. As I receive my order, I start
eating the food that contains very light salt. While masticating the daintiest French
fries, I drink the frosty Iced Winter melon Tea.

Getting inside the Water Drop Tea House makes me feel at peace and
comfortable. Can Filipinos realize the importance of eating in Water Drop Tea House
like having a healthier life?

There are different ways to come with a definition of conflict. When speaking of
conflict, what would immediately come into mind would most likely be how
differences and disagreements make such an occurrence to spring up. Having that,
let us have that question again, for the purpose of a more comprehensive discussion.
Hence, what is conflict? It can be described as a disagreement among groups or
individuals characterized by antagonism and hostility. This is usually fueled by the
opposition of one party to another, in an attempt to reach an objective different
from that of the other party. The elements involved in the conflict have varied sets
of principles and values, thus allowing such a conflict to arise.

occurs when the parties involved intend to maximize what influence it has in the
social setting. Such a situation can happen among individuals, groups, or even
nations. In other types of conflict, power is also evident as it involves an asserting of
influence to another.

Conflict comes naturally; the clashing of thoughts and ideas is a part of the human
experience. It is true that it can be destructive if left uncontrolled. However, it
shouldn’t be seen as something that can only cause negative things to transpire. It is
a way to come up with more meaningful realizations that can certainly be helpful to
the individuals involved. These positive outcomes can be reached through effective
implementation of conflict resolution. Conflict can be seen as an opportunity for
learning and understanding our differences. We can all live harmoniously despite
conflicts as long as we know how to responsibly manage these struggles.

Conflict, in psychology, the arousal of two or more strong motives that cannot be

solved together. A youngster, for example, may want to go to a dance to feel that he
belongs to a group and does what his friends do. For an adolescent in
Western culture, that is a strong motive. But the youth may be a clumsy dancer and
sensitive to the real or imagined ridicule of his fellows. Therefore, he also has a
motive to avoid the dance to escape humiliation. He is in a dilemma; whether he
goes or stays he will experience distress. This type of situation is termed
an approach-avoidance conflict. Psychologically, a conflict exists when the reduction
of one motivating stimulus involves an increase in another so that a new adjustment
is demanded. Conflicts are not all equally severe. A conflict between two desired
gratifications (approach-approach conflict), as when a youth has to choose between
two attractive and practicable careers, may lead to some vacillation but rarely to
great distress. A conflict between two dangers or threats (avoidance-avoidance
conflict) is usually more disturbing. A man may dislike his job intensely but fear the
threat of unemployment if he quits. A conflict between a need and a fear may also
be intense. A child may be dependent on his mother but fear her because she is
rejecting and punitive. The conflicts that involve intense threat or fear are not solved
readily but make the person feel helpless and anxious. Subsequent adjustments may
then be directed more to the relief of anxiety than to the solution of real problems.

Basically, we can define conflict as a struggle between opposing forces - two

characters, a character, and nature, or even an internal struggle - conflict provides a
level of angst into a story that engages the reader and makes him or her invested in
finding out what happens. So how do you best create conflict? First, you need to
understand the different types of conflict, which can essentially be broken down into
two categories: internal and external conflict. An internal conflict tends to be one in
which the main character struggles with himself, such as a decision he needs to
make or a weakness he has to overcome. An external conflict is one in which the
character faces a challenge with an external force, like another character, an act of
nature, or even society.

Types of Bosses

In a world of today, people search for jobs while others already have the jobs of their
desire as some land in jobs for the sake of money. Throughout the course of a
professional career, people encounter different types of bosses. Each of them has
their own quirks, their own processes, and their own mentalities, and for one to
survive you got to learn how to deal with each of them. The different types of bosses
are always created by the tough times (Scully, Judith A., et al. 59). The bosses one
has to learn to survive under include; the hands-off boss, the micromanager, the
buddy, the shiny object chaser, and the apathetic boss.

The hands-off boss takes pride in giving the workers freedom and flexibility. The type
of boss who won’t interfere with the worker’s projects but at the same time give
limited direction with which to start. Working with a hands-off boss needs a lot of
communication whereby the worker has to ask whenever he/she needs help from
the boss.
There comes the micromanager boss, a tough one for anyone to deal with who likes
to dig into details, stepping on the employee’s toes on occasion by telling the worker
what to do and how to do it, sometimes what seems like every minute of every day.
The employee can voice an opinion, but the micromanager is unlikely to change. To
work under a micromanager, it’s better to keep a distance for the tasks one cares
most about, give feedback, and try to build more trusts.

The buddy boss wants to befriend the employee in the workplace. He /she
will always greet with a cheery disposition, will be soft when it comes to feedback or
advice, and won’t set strict deadlines. On one hand, one gets more flexibility in the
tasks and actions, but on the other, one will have less constructive critics on which to
build the abilities. Here one will have to ask for feedback directly and may need to
work up the discipline to set more limits and goals.

The shiny object chaser is another type of boss who lacks focus, or at least
consistency in focus who will always start the week demanding one set of goals or
working objectives, but by mid-week changes the mind. Shiny object chaser has a lot
of energy, but priorities shift-sometimes radically-far too often for any reasonable
person to keep up. It is hard to deal with the boss mentioned above, but the best
approach is to frequently communicate about priorities, hedge the bets by only
investing fully when sure a priority will stick, and not taking personally when the
boss changes the mind.

Here now comes the apathetic boss who shares some similarities with the
hands-off boss, but is somewhat more destructive in her processes. Whereas the
hands-off boss attempts to empower employees by giving them more liberties and
less interference, the apathetic boss truly doesn’t care about the job or the position
as a manager. The apathetic boss is hard to communicate with and different from
even employee’s greatest successes and failures. The best approach is an employee
to gather feedback a lot and keep the focus on their own position.

It is good to note that no one type of boss is inherently bad or good. Sometimes it
may be annoying to deal with a micromanager or frustrating to keep up with shiny
object chaser, but there are some advantages to these styles one may not see and
they don’t necessitate that their practitioners are bad workers. Therefore one needs
to cope up with their bosses.

you? How about living here in the Philippines? Do you love to live and serve our
country? Or are you one of those who prefer living abroad? let me refresh you of
who really are the Filipinos?

Like any other people no matter what country they come from, Filipinos have also
both positive and negative qualities. On the positive side, Filipinos are family-
oriented, which would also result in an extended family. Like for example, a married
child even at his right age, still is not allowed to separate from his parents. Even
relatives or distant relatives prefer to stay together amidst difficulties or for better or
for worse. Thus, this would likewise result in dependency on the family. Each family
member is not developed yo be live independently. As stated above, Filipinos also
have the negative quality of being lazy because of his/her so much dependency on
his/her family. He/She had not been trained to live on his own, to work, and to give
directions for his own life.

These negative qualities must not hinder a certain Filipino to be proud of who
he/she is. These may just challenge him to go on with his life. No matter what,
he/she is a Filipino, born a Filipino, and even to die being a Filipino.

Venezuela Protests in 2014

Venezuela is a country with many mineral resources like silver, mercury,

aluminum, magnesium but especially petroleum. The good administration of these
minerals has been the main reason whereby  Venezuela has had an amazing
development. During periods of  Hugo Chavez, how made many social, economic,
and political reforms to benefit the most vulnerable of Venezuelan society. For many
economic groups of power, these reforms were a danger for their interests, as a
result, these groups produced a series of conditions that led to the Venezuelan
population believe that the guilty of all was the Venezuelan government; as result
surged an endless number of social protests. The purpose of this essay to
demonstrate that the social protests in Venezuela in 2014 have been caused by the
following factors: The influence of groups of economic power in relation to the high
rates of inflation, shortages of basic products and commodities, and the negative
influence of the media on the population in relation to the social crisis.

One cause of the protests in Venezuela in 2014, has been the influence of groups
of economic power in relation to the high rates of inflation that raised the price of
commodities, services, wage rates declined and reduced the demand for labor. This
influence was because the economic groups from the beginning they felt threatened
their economic interests as a result of the reforms that had been executed in the
periods of Hugo Chavez; in response to this, these groups devised a set of economic
actions that would harm the government and the population with the aim of
destabilizing the Venezuelan economy, thereby produced an economic, political and
social crisis into the country. Also, within the threatened interests were national
economic groups and foreign economic groups, which saw the revolutionary
dynamics of reforms in social functions, considered urgent to take measures to
enable them to return to power of the economic system, in the particular case
resource of petroleum, which ultimately is the most important for countries like the
U.S.  how has constantly tried intervene in such crisis.

Another cause of the protests is the shortages of basic products and commodities
that have increased the economical, political, and social crisis in Venezuela. Basic
consumer products such as corn flour, oil, milk, sugar, coffee, and toilet paper are no
longer produced and imported into the country as one of the actions of private
entrepreneurs to destabilize the government. In addition, they have grabbed all
products in warehouses to prevent the population to have access to them.
Entrepreneurs have altered exchange control raising the prices of products that
make devalue the Venezuelan currency and therefore loses its real value in relation
to the exchange of currencies in foreign trade. Also, caused up messes in the balance
of prices of construction materials giving rise to the black market and has served as
fertilizer for spreading corruption. These destabilizing measures have reduced
income levels for the productive sector of the country and reduced indices of social
development that had been achieved in previous years, leading to greater
inequalities between groups of power and society.

Therefore, the negative influence of the media on the population in relation to the
social crisis is also leading to drive such protests, by reason that the media have been
sold to the Venezuelan population, the idea that government is guilty of all
economic, political, and social imbalances in the crisis; also it is the same idea that is
presented to public opinion abroad. The role of the media has served as an
instrument of persuasion for cheap internal and external power to delegitimize the
actions and social projects of the previous government of Hugo Chavez and the
current government of Maduro.  The media broadcast only the negative aspects of
the crisis, but do not mention anything related to social, political, and democratic
benefits, which have had the management of the last two governments, which have
influenced the reduction of poverty and improvement in the conditions of equality in
population. The purpose of the media is to make the international public opinion
demands the intervention of the UN, the U.S., and other powers to restore order and
some way return the power to the old economic power groups.

To summarize, Venezuela is a country rich in mineral recourses especially

petroleum, which was achieved earlier efforts take the country out of poverty with
social projects, however, the economic power groups want to regain their lost
power, taking advantage of the fact that the icon of the Revolution Contempranea
XXI century (Hugo Chavez) how died, thus produced desetablizan measures the
government and have used their economic power, using the media to legitimize such
actions. It is only hoped that the Venezuelan population takes real awareness of the
purposes of the groups of domestic and foreign economic power, aprovehando
social situation living and not let them be taken away the benefits of social,
economic, and political development obtained to date.

Travelling Vacations vs. Staycations

Staycations have in the past few years become the most popular alternative to
vacation traveling. No wonder: staying at home for the holidays is cheaper, safer,
and easier. So, it only stands to reason that back-porch vacations and poolside
holidays are becoming the new trend for middle-class Americans, especially in light
of the recent economic crisis. However, there are some very specific reasons why
traveling will always remain a better alternative, despite the cost issues and any
possible inconveniences.
First of all, traveling involves experiencing with your own senses: seeing, touching,
hearing, and smelling the new, unusual, and unique atmosphere of places you visit
while on vacation. If someone described to you what a new ice-cream flavor tastes
like using a hundred words, but instead you could choose to simply try it
yourself,   would you have preferred the description or the experience of your own?
It is the same as traveling. Unlike watching Discovery Channel or National
Geographic, reading about exotic places on somebody’s blog, and watching even the
most colorful and fun podcasts about traveling, actually visiting the place is ten times
more powerful of an experience. Plus, you get to form your own opinion about what
you see instead of just watching it through the eyes of a documentary director or
through the lens of a photographer.
Secondly, traveling is arguably the best source of inspiration one could think of.
Even if you have been to the place a few times already, the next time you visit it the
impressions can be yet very different, have a new spice or a fresh hint, since the
weather, your mood and the people you come across will be different, and your
impression of the place can change radically or just become fuller and more holistic.
To me, traveling always brings new discoveries, whether they are discoveries of the
outer worlds externally or discoveries within yourself. And, in this regard, traveling
can be the best cure for depression, the feeling of inner perplexity, and fears for
what the future may bring and where you are heading. Sometimes, a vacation to a
place you have never been before or know very little about can do a lot more than
just broaden your knowledge and inspire new emotions. It can change your whole
life perspective and cause you to revise your life values. So, no wonder that a lot of
people return from vacations as completely new persons and never come back to
their old lifestyles.
Finally, traveling means meeting new people. Unlike staycations, that normally
revolve around the same group of people you are already on good terms with,
traveling brings together at times absolutely different people, from various cultures
and backgrounds. Travelling is always a chance to get to know others better and to
learn to adjust to new traditions and other people’s lifestyles. While on the road, you
can meet someone you would never get a chance to meet if you stayed within your
comfort zone, at home, or with a group of people you’ve known for ages already.
Travelling is always a chance to make new friends and change the cycle of the
everyday routine that you’ve gotten trapped in over the years.
All in all, there is always a place for discussion of whether traveling is worth the
money you will spend on it or is it simply better to save up, spend your vacation at
home, and stay within your comfort zone. Sure, traveling may seem like a challenge
– it needs a great deal of planning, a decent budget, and a certain enthusiasm and
willingness to challenge yourself. But those who have the courage to follow their
dreams and overcome any obstacles will always find a way to pursue a hobby they
like. And if you feel that overwhelming desire to see a place far away, don’t let the
fears take over your dream. Having once traveled, you will probably never again ask
yourself whether to spend your vacation at home or travel – staycations will simply
not be an option.

As time goes by, changes always occur though how much you like to retain those
things which you value the most. Yet, we need also to perceive the positive side of
these changes. There are also good things that happened out of the new things that
exist to all of us.
Mostly, part of the changes that have occurred in this time is the full development
of technology specifically the existence of computers in exchange for a typewriter.

Everyone will agree that the computer is more efficient than the typewriter. The
typewriter is losing it to the computer in our modern industrial world. The popularity
of the computer is decreasing because it is noisy, takes time and difficult to use. In
using a computer, on the other hand, errors can be easily corrected or deleted.
Others like correct spelling, grammar checker, fonts, and margins are all possible
with computers.

Still, both the computer and typewriter are useful devices for typing. However, they
differ from each other in certain manners. But truly, everyone prefers more the use
of computers and even grateful enough with its total existence and development.

Prompt: Many people enjoy the freedom of using cell phones wherever they go.
Some people argue, however, that cell phone use should be limited because it may
disturb others. Should people be allowed to use cell phones in places like stores,
restaurants, and movie theaters, or should cell phone use in such places be
banned? Take a position on this question. Use reasons and specific examples to
support your views.

The use of cell phones in public places is a right that all people should possess
and the apparent annoyance they cause some people should not dictate for
everyone when and where we are allowed to use our personal item because they
are useful in emergency situations, can help, business, family, and friends keep in
touch while out in public, and are multifunctional.

While you are out shopping or in a restaurant or movie theater, there is a

chance that an emergency could happen and you need to be contacted immediately.
Being able to have our cell phones with us everywhere we go and at all times allows
for quick contact and quick relay of information. If there was a ban on cell phones,
then there would be no way you could be contacted or informed about that
emergency. Today’s world is all about having the most recent information as fast as
we possibly can. Banning cell phones in those public places, where a good majority
of us spend a lot of time, would basically defeat the purpose of even having a mobile
phone- being able to be contacted anywhere and everywhere.

Nowadays, cell phones serve as multifunctional devices and come with a lot
of lifestyle or utility apps or you can download more yourself. Cell phones also offer
the option to use your phone as a method of payment, opposed to using cash or
actual credit or debit cards. If there was a ban on cell phones in stores, movie
theater ticket counters, etc., then many people would be very inconvenienced by
having to carry around multiple forms of payment. Using your phone as a method of
payment really should not bother anyone else because it does not make noise and is
only out for a short moment of time. If someone is truly bothered by the use of a cell
phone for such a minimal task then they should just look around and see that our
world is evolving and new technology is a big part of our future.

Communication amongst family, friends, and businesses is another major

reason people use phones while out in public places. Keeping in touch with family
and friends, especially those who live in different time zones or live in faraway
places, is very important to me and many other people. I myself know this all too
well because I have a family member that has a six-hour time difference and the only
time we really have the time to talk is when I’m usually out and about. Many people
also use cellphones out in public because of work-related things and/or problems. In
almost every store or restaurant I go to I find at least one person who is on a work-
related call. With some jobs, you are done when you leave to go home, but many
require you to be available after work hours in the case of work-related emergencies
or just general questions. Again, if there were a ban on cell phones, companies
would not be as efficient and successful as they are now when they can reach
employees at all hours of the day.

To reiterate, I believe that the ban of cell phones in public places, such as,
stores, restaurants, and movie theaters, would not be in the best interest of the
many people who own and use them for the reasons mentioned. Not allowing them
to be used in public would be a pointless exercise, considering the hardships it would
take to enforce something like that. Despite the annoyance they cause for some
people, cell phones should not be banned because of the numerous positive
contributions they provide for a great number of people.

“Students Abroad and Life Satisfaction”

Life satisfaction involves people thinking about their life as a whole, including
factors such as whether they are achieving their goals, are doing as well as other
people around them and happy generally rather than just right now. These days
education became significant issues around the world. There are a lot of
opportunities to study for people not only in their country but also abroad. Over the
past few decades, researchers have done many studies about students that they are
living overseas. Based on their findings some of these students face some problems
with the satisfaction of their lives. So some scholars claim that dissatisfaction with
life became a global problem for foreign students who study in abroad.

Life satisfaction represents how satisfied people feel with their life generally,
Satisfaction has been described by Shin and Johnson (1978) as a global assessment
of a person’s quality of life according to his/her own criteria. In recent years, a lot of
young people from different countries go to developed countries to continue their
education. During this period, they probably face dissatisfaction in their lives. Based
on the number of studies like Ylijoki (2000) dissatisfaction of life for students who
are living abroad is increasing. It caused by different indicators such as homeless,
stress, unsuccessful and etc. The researchers stated that when students start their
new life abroad some of them become homeless about their countries, families, and
even their home foods. They cannot adjust themselves to host country foods,
families, and friends. So they prefer to isolate themselves and spend many times
alone. Researchers also pointed to stress, lack of confidence, and academics
suggested that researchers in their future studies can find more predictors for
preventing this problem.

Based on the literature review one of the possible solutions for the prevention
of dissatisfaction of life is a socialization program. According to socialization theory
Bandura (1977-1997), it can conduct through three stages: getting in, breaking in,
and settling in. During the first phase, before students leave their country they can
learn about the prospective community, they also can learn something about the
host country culture, language, food, and some important rules in that country. The
second stage occurs when students arrive directly in the new country. They apply the
knowledge that learned before and experiences them in the real situation. Finally,
the third stage occurs when students are settling and stay in the new country. They
learn how they adjust to new conditions for starting their study and new life. So, if
we train these stages to students we can decrease dissatisfaction with life. It can be
claimed that the socialization program can be a good solution to this problem.

Socialization program needs short and long term educational plans. It means that
we need some expert persons such as educationalists, psychologists, and even
politics for presenting and teaching all the issues that may be a student face during
his/her study. These expert persons can identify important issues for students who
won't go overseas and continue their education, so in this way, they can preventing
of dissatisfaction of life. Experts in Education such as Atherton (2000) explain the
philosophy of education and the difference between it from other countries. They
also mentioned their expectations of students in the educational levels.
Psychologists also can describe some indicators that maybe cause dissatisfaction in
life such as stress, homeless, unsuccessful, and etc. Politics in the educational areas
can help students through introduce and explain some issues that are related to
culture, religion, politics, economy, security, and so on. As we know each country has
its special situations and conditions, so sometimes finding experts in all of these
areas is very difficult. But, it’s no problem we can ask from the ministry of foreign
affairs for giving the latest

In conclusion, dissatisfaction with life among students who are living abroad can
be prevented by a good socialization program in society. It occurs based on
socialization theory through short and long-term education and the use of experts in
different areas. Based on all these stages dissatisfaction with life will be decreased
among students in abroad.

OWN EXAMPLE

In every bit of problem lies a certain solution. The weight of a problem may equal
the solution arises. Have you noticed that you surpassed that problem and you are
still alive and kicking? This means there is always a solution to every problem.

How can one avoid bullying? Oneself? The first solution that I can give out of the
question above is to excel in the chosen field despite disabilities or difficulties. Next
is to develop strong self-confidence in order to learn to ignore bad comments
against you. The third is to believe in yourself. If others can, why can’t you? Then
lastly, is to have a positive outlook in life amidst hardships or challenges.

Though it is not as easy as you think to avoid bullying. Still, the only person who can
help you is only yourself. Then you are the best person who knows more about
yourself. So, why doubt? Instead just simply believe that when God created each one
of us, He created all of us equally.
