IM Development for Publication

General Guidelines:
1. Be sure that you have completed a detailed OBE syllabus for the course with at
least 7 major references. The sequence of topics must not be exclusively
based on just one book.

2. Follow the suggested format of the materials according to type given below.

3. Use consistently suggested font type and size (preferably Arial or Calibre, size
12).

4. Use short size or letter size paper with margin of 1 ½ on the left for binding, and
1 on the upper, bottom and right side.

Alternative for these modules*: you may use long size/folio size paper with
narrower margin and small font (e.g. 11).
5. Strictly acknowledge sources by providing in-text citation copied materials using
the APA documentation system ( e.g. Dela Cruz, 2019) which should have
corresponding complete bibliographic entries (author, title, publisher, and
publication date) in the list of references.

6. Paginate the whole materials using lowercase Roman numerals in the

preliminary part and in Arabic number in the body of the material at the bottom
of the page.

7. Develop the material based in congruence to the syllabus as to proposed

sequence, learning tasks, and assessment activities. You may make revisions
on this stage to your material or syllabus.

8. As much as possible, design the lesson to be learner-oriented, activity- focused

and outcomes- driven.

9. Worksheets may be formatted in such a way that it may be detached from the
workbook without affecting the reading materials for submission/assessment or
evaluation.

10. The completed material will be subjected to content review by the identified
content expert and subsequently to a language editor/copy editor.

11. Integrate appropriate and preferably original pictures, photos,

graphics/designed materials.

12. Include discourse markers to provide smooth transition of ideas. Likewise

include motivational prompts to give your material a feel that you are directly
talking to them. Include your reminders for effective study, retention, and
understanding.

13. The material will be subjected to test use at least for one semester and
subsequent revision based on the result of instruction and evaluation of
learners/users before it will be finalized for IP protection and publication.

14. You are encouraged to provide feedback on this material.
