Reference Guide for Covid Coordinators

As a part of unlock, most of the commercials and establishments are slowly


opening and regaining the routine work environment. With the study of
Antibody Testing, AMC has proven that a large no. of population is still
susceptible to infection. Hence, as a part of Containment Strategy, on
13.08.2020, AMC have given directives for Establishments /Shops/
Commercials that any of such, with employees more than 30 must appoint
a COVID Coordinator to look after the SOPs of Unlock for workplaces. As
the work-related exposure to COVID-19 can occur anytime, during work-
related travel to an area with PRESCENE OF Positive Cases, as well as on
the way to and from the workplace, it is responsibility of Covid
Coordinators to enforce the Unlock protocols related to COVID-19.

1- What is my role as Covid Coordinator?


As a Covid Coordinators, your responsibility is to enforce all
protocols of related to COVID-19 issued including ensuring use of
Face Mask and Social Distancing and also, to prevent large
gatherings within the workplace.
2- As a Covid Coordinator, what should I know about COVID-19?
It is a disease called Coronavirus Disease-2019 caused by a
Coronavirus named as SARS-CoV2.
The symptoms of COVID-19 are Fever, Cough and Difficulty in
breathing COVID-19 testing is not required if there are no symptoms.
If someone has these symptoms of Fever, Cough or Difficulty in
Breathing, you have to report it to nearby Urban Primary Health
Centre and conduct Contact Tracing and report it as per the
prescribed Proforma given with Orders of Municipal Commissioner
dated 13.08.2020
3- Whom to consider as Suspect as Covid Coordinator?
Anyone with acute respiratory illness {fever and at least one sign/
symptom of respiratory disease (cough, difficulty in breathing will be
considered as Suspect. You need to assist that person to Urban
Primary Health Centre and get tested for COVID-19.
Depending upon the results and discretion of UPHC Medical Officer,
the person needs to undergo treatment as per the protocols. That
Person will either get admitted in hospital or Home Isolation. For
admission in Hospital, the follow up will be done by Urban Primary
Health Centre; person can get admitted in any AMC Designated
COVID Hospital such as Civil Hospital, Sola and Civil Hospital, Asarwa.
And, if the patient undergoes Home Isolation, the follow-up wil be
done by Sanjeevani Team.
Further, for any other health assistance required during the
treatment or otherwise, at any point of time, the person or the Covid
Coordinator can dial ‘104’. The 104 service is Its main features are
providing health care services at patient’s home, providing treatment
and counselling on call about do’s and don’ts of COVID 19 disease.
4- Who is a Contact Case?
Anyone staying in close environment with COVID-19 patient at the
workplace, travelling together in close proximity (less than 1 m) with
a symptomatic person who later tested positive for COVID-19, these
persons must be identified and reported in prescribed format III as
per the Orders of Municipal Commissioner dated 13.08.2020.
