KONSEP BARU
(EVIDENCE BASED PRACTICE / EBP)
Konsep dasar :
Since Dr. George Winter (1962) (i)
demonstrated faster epithelialization in a small sample of
experimental porcine wounds covered with an occlusive dressing, the principles of moist
wound healing have evolved into a science.
Sophisticated dressingsii (Thomas 1997) (ii) provide moist, isotonic, interactive and non‐
toxic environments for healing, but only function optimally
when they match the characteristics of the wound (iii)
Marks et al. (iv) (1987) described the ideal characteristics of a wound dressing, including:
Impermeability to water and bacteria, Freedom from particulate matter, Thermal insulati
on, Absorption and retention of exudate, Prevention of trauma on removal,
Removal of toxic substances, Prevention of dehydration, Allow for gaseous exchange.
Sharp et al. (v) (2001 ) added pain relief and comfort. (vi)
