Course Objectives
By the end of this course student will be able to;
1. Explore the relationship between culture, society and health
2. Analyze health-related knowledge, beliefs, attitudes and practices of various socio-cultural
groups.
3. Appreciate the role of society and culture in recognizing health system utilization
4. Apply trans-cultural nursing concepts when providing nursing care to clients.
5. Discuss relevant social issues and suggest methods to facilitate change where necessary
Evaluation criteria:
Cultural analysis paper 30% (rubric is attached for paper)
Class participation/presentation 30%
Final exam 40%
Total 100%
