The movie is Just Mercy of 2019. This is a must-watch movie that talks about racism.

It has shaped the racism theme conversation around capital punishment in the United States.

The movie or the il has highlighted the racial bias that has permeated the US criminal justice

system (Stevenson, 2019). Based on the book is a best-selling book by Bryan Stevenson, who

is the Equal Justice Initiative founder and the real-life experiences that he has faced, the

intense drama has focused on Stevenson, Michael B Jordan, who up to now remains the

defense attorney who is working in appealing the wrongful conviction of the Walter

McMillan, the black man who faced the wrath of being sentenced to death for a crime that he

was not aware of.

The movie handles the racism issue into deeper analysis by first addressing the issue

of the change of sentencing practices, especially for the children and the teens, more so to the

ones with mental health problems (Stevenson, 2019). For those within the Montgomery area,

the “Equal Justice Initiative National Memorial for Peace and Justice and the Legacy

Museum” provide impactful and visceral displays of the slavery history as well as racism in

America, more particularly the African Americans enslavement, the racial bias. Segregation

and racial lynching among others. These have been highly condemned in the movie.
