DETERMINATION OF SOLID CONTENT

2. Introduction:

This practice is intended test method for determining non volatile content of
the
resinous materials ( All processed Polymer Materials ).

3. Produce:

3-1 Weight small piece of aluminum foil its dimension approximately 3 Cm² and record its

weight ( A).

3.2 Put about 0.1 gm of Material on the foil surface and flat it by glass rode and record

the weight (B).

3-3 The sample of Material is dried at 120° C for 1 hr in the furnace.

3-4 Weight the sample after cooling and record the weight ( C ).

4. Calculations:

The solid content % = ( C –A ) X 100

( B –A )
