Production process :

1) charge EC 101 to flask melting occur at 60 – 70 c with N2 gas.


2) After EC 101 melt , add EP 106 + EP 105 to flask and rise temp to 100 -
110 c , exothermic reaction will start and note increase of temp and note increase
of temperature and don’t allow increase of temp than 140 c.
3) hold T for 1 hr.
4) add ED 307 and hold temp for 1 hr.
5) add EC 100 + ED 306 , raise temp to 165 c ( 5 c /15 min).
6) hold temp 2 hrs at 165 c.
7) raise temp to 215 c ( 10 c /30 min)., at 200 c add half of EI 503.

8) at 215 c , start to check A.V every hour.


9) at A.V 28 - 30 apply vacuum for 10 min.
10) cool to 180 c , add EI 501 + rest of EI 503.
11) start to check A.V & viscosity ( 66 % in styrene ) , by DIN cup No 4.
12) cool to 100 c , then drop the resin to EV 400 + ED 303 + EI 502 ( temp
shouldn’t exceed 80 c).
13) at temp 40 - 45 c add EI 500.

Processing Results :

10:40 70 c Add EP 105 + EP 106 , raise T to 100 c.

10:50 110 c Exothermic reaction begin.

11:00 135c Exothermic reaction completed, fix T for 1 hr.

12:00 135 c Add ED 307 , , fix T for 1 hr

1:35 135 c Add ED 306 + EC 100 ,raise to 140 c,fix for 1/4 hr.

1:50 140 c Raise T to 145 c , fix for 1/4 hr.

2:05 145 c Raise T to 150 c , fix for 1/4 hr.

2:20 150 c Raise T to 155 c , fix for 1/4 hr.

2:35 155 c Raise T to 160 c , fix for 1/4 hr.

2:50 160 c Raise T to 165 c , fix for 1hr.

3:50 165 c Raise T to 175 c , fix for 1/2hr.

4:20 175 c Raise T to 185 c , fix for 1/2hr.

4:50 185 c Raise T to 195 c , fix for 1/2hr.

5:20 195 c Add 1/2 EI 503 ,Raise T to 205 c , fix for 1/2hr.

Special Notes

 all EI’s are diluted to 10% per wt using EP 103 , and using the calculated
quantities multiplied by 7.5 ( i.e : using 3/4 the calculated quantities).
 In 25-1-2004 four samples are sent to ch: Bahaa as follow:
