IRAN

Iran Is also known as Persia. It is a country in the western asia.

• Genesis – 1. there are many problems which have affected the economy of
Iran. At the medivial time iran faced Anglo-soviet war which was a war
between Russia and nazi advance. This War Was To Open A Route Of
Supply In Ussr Through Middle Eastern Kingdom Of Iran.
2. Issue of nationalization of the industry of oil was also going on. This led
to Formation Of Anglo Persian Oil Company. The main motive of
nationalization was the expropriation.
Issues of concern
• US drones were attacked by the iran army due to which the US
deactivated their missiles.
• Due to poor decisions the iran economy is getting affected a lot.
• There were allegations that iran blasted the OIL ships of the US

Present Situation-
1. Iran is in bad relationship with US and there is sanction placed by US
that they cannot practice any nuclear weapons.
2. There is sanction of oil export also as Iran is not allowed to export oil in
any country. Because they were suspected to evade the oil tankers of US
which were going through Iran.
3. The committee was set up during the time of leadership of Hassan
Rouhani there was a formation of joint comprehensive plan of action in
2015. and purpose of this was to enact the Iran nuclear deal.

Geo-strategic importance
1. The rail network of Iran has setup its own advantages, which includes the
quality of connecting the rail roads of central Asia in northeast to Pakistan in
east etc
2. After the formation of safe air corridor flight are operated within this
corridors.. This sector has provided good opportunity to invest countries in
Iran's aviation sector.
3. The European union, India and china are showing up their interest by
investing upon the development of this south-eastern Iranian port.
Future
• Iran would be having a chance of war with US and various nation.
• Recently UK also signed the sanction of nuclear deal against Iran. It has
become sure that in future economy has to face more downfall
• Economy of Iran would be more demolishing after the assassination of its
present leader Qasem Soleimani.
