Dril-Quip has built its own Horizontal Test Machine because no known test fixture had the capability to validate all
of the required data to comply with ISO
13679. This machine is powerful enough
to deliver the loads required combined
with both internal and external pressure.
The Horizontal Test Machine is equipped
with hydraulic cylinders and a control
system that applies prescribed loads to a
test specimen. The machine is capable of
following loads:

• 20+ million ft-lbf of bending capacity


• 13+ million lbf of axial capacity
• Internal/external pressure and
associated pressure end loads to
equipment capacity
• Simultaneous application of various
combined load scenarios to the Dril-Quip’s Horizontal Test Machine
