Row 13 - HDC, TR, repeat until end of row. Ch1 and turn (80sts)

Row 14 – HDC, TR, repeat until end of row. Ch 1 and turn (80sts) (you should always be working a HDC on top of the
previous TR and a TR on top of the previous HDC)

Row 15 and 16 – Repeat rows 13 and 14

Row 17 – 28 - HDC in each st. Ch 1 and turn (80sts)

You should now have 12 rows of HDC. At the end of row 28 fasten off.

We are now going to complete the sleeves….

and join with a sl st to the top of the first HDC. (35sts) Ch1 and turn

Round 19 – SC into each st, join with Sl St to first SC. Fasten off

Repeat for second sleeve.

We are now going to complete the collar…...

With the front of the cardigan facing you attach yarn to the top right-hand corner but do this from the inside of
cardigan.

Row 1 – Ch1 and HDC in the same st, HDC 7, HDC2tog, HDC 10, HDC2tog, HDC 16, HDC2tog, HDC 10, HDC2tog,
HDC 8. Ch1 and turn (56 sts) (the HDC2tog are worked across each corner – see photo below)

Row 2 – HDC2tog, HDC 52, HDC2tog. Ch1 and turn (54sts)

Row 3 – HDC2tog, HDC 5, HDC2tog, HDC 8, HDC2tog, HDC 16, HDC2tog, HDC 8, HDC2tog, HDC 5, HDC2tog. Ch1 and
turn. (48sts)

Row 4 – HDC2tog, HDC 44, HDC2tog. Fasten off (46sts)

We are now going to create the band that runs up each front edge and around the collar….

Attach yarn to the bottom left stitch (front facing you)

Row 1 – Ch1 and HDC into same stitch, HDC into each stitch up the edge, around the collar and down the opposite
edge. The stitch count does not matter but as a rule complete a HDC into the edge of each HDC row and 2 HDC into
the edge of the pattern (bobble) rows. Try and keep your stitches even.

Ch and turn when you reach the opposite bottom corner and repeat this row twice.

When you have completed 3 rows of HDC, Ch1 and turn and complete a continuous row of SC (see note below) into
each stitch all around the edge of the cardigan (including the bottom edge) I worked 3 SC into each of the bottom
corner stitches as this helps to keep the corners flat. When you have completed this row fasten off.
Note: If possible, I would recommend reducing your hook size by 0.5mm to complete the row of SC. I find that this
gives a neater finish.

Finishing off……………

To create my button loops I simply created a chain long enough to go around my button, I sewed the ends of the
chain to the inside of the left side of the cardigan and then I sewed my buttons to the front right-hand side.

You can now weave in all your ends (if you haven’t already) and complete your loops and buttons…

You are finished!! I hope you enjoyed making this cardigan
