- Filipino leaders that inspire you

o Sarah Elago – Having become the youngest lawmaker currently serving in the
Congress of the Philippines, Sarah Jane Elago inspires with her adamant will and
widespread activism in schools and communities. Despite the media’s
persistence in her life, she knows that the attention shouldn’t be given to her but
to the issues she’s trying to bring into light.
o Bam Aquino – Senator Paolo Benigno Aquino has had 19 laws under his belt and
still continues to empower Filipino families through education. He believes in the
future of education, a branch that all country leaders must prioritize.
- The importance of being a registered voter and its impact on the future of our
country in choosing a leader
o The incoming 2022 national elections will decide a new president, a vice
president, 12 senators, 238 congressional representatives and 59 party-list
representatives. We’ve already known that every vote counts. We’ve seen it play
out during the US Elections between Biden and Trump. Voting is an act of will
and of choices, a means to make once’s voice heard especially now, when a
crisis has hit our country in turmoil. Registering to vote is just the initial phase of
change, a direct hand in the way policies is handled. Not registering won’t
exempt you from bearing the brunt of government policies so take the better path
and register.
- The youth’s take on Leadership in the time of the pandemic
o Us youth have a crucial role in building this nation, a population nearing 110
million as I speak. The youth are constantly speaking out and urging the
government for a better Post-covid normal. On July 25th, youth leaders declared
their “Better Normal Youth Agenda”, highlighting their demands for the roadmap:
promotion of youth participation within a democratic society; prioritization of
solutions to the health, food and climate crises; and placing people at the center
of local and national policy-making. Covid-19 has exposed broken systems that
needs to be addressed and the youth can only do so much before it is left in the
hands of our country leaders.
- How does it take to be a Digital Leader?
o Digital leaders need to be adept at utilizing digital technologies to communicate,
collaborate and coordinate their activities across the business. However,
becoming digitally literate is only one thing. He/she must also show willingness to
experiment on harnessing the potential that certain members offer, promoting a
collaborative environment. A disruptor’s mindset allows leaders to not just cope
with change but to also lead with change, challenging the status quo and
reinventing their strategy.
- Application of leadership in every aspect of our lives (Self, School, Family,
Church, etc.)
o Leadership is applied in every aspect of our lives. It can appear as a simple
guidance to our family and friends. In school, it’s especially useful when initiating
action for school works. Leadership instills confidence and builds up morale, a
tool to be utilized and honed to an even more effective weapon in the future.
- Gratitude
o Thank you for having me in this podcast and to the listeners, thanking you for
taking the time to listen to our take on leadership. We appreciate you for staying
till the end and once again, as possible future leaders of our country, we must
register to vote if we want to set an example for the generations after us. That’s
all.
