SUBJECT: Commonisation and conversion of pumps for service

1. INTRODUCTION
As the result of a request from Ford, all of the existing range of pumps with 0.9cc/rev capacity,
fitted to the Puma range of engines, including the early pumps fitted with tin plated Fuel
Temperature Sensor (FTS) connectors, are now serviced by a range of pumps having 1.2cc/rev
capacity.

The existing pumps have been replaced by the new versions according to the list below:-

Existing Pump No. Replacement pump No.

Pumps 9044A130A & B retain the original ‘stud’ type inlet connection, 9044A090A has the ‘swept
pipe’ type connection.

In addition these changes have also been implemented for the Independent Aftermarket, i.e. only
the 1.2cc variants are available for service.

The 1.2 CC pumps are interchangeable with the 0.9CC versions, however, the 0.9CC versions
must not be used to replace the 1.2CC.

2. SERVICE ACTION

As a further result of this change the 0.9cc drive shaft part number 9303-520B is longer being
produced, and thus, once stocks are exhausted, any pumps received for service and requiring a
new driveshaft must be upgraded to the 1.2cc version (part number 9303-520D).

In addition to the change of driveshaft, the TP regulator device must also be upgraded to the version
with the integral damper (kit part number 7135-480).

The pump number must then be amended, according to the table above, to reflect this change,
and the modified pump must then be tested to the relevant testplan.
