Supplier Quality Requirements and Expectations

Dana Supplier,

As Dana is a World Class leader in our industry and continuously strives to exceed our customer’s
expectations, as our partners, it is imperative that we remind you of our supplier quality requirements
and expectations. These are global standards that all of our suppliers must adhere to. Failure to comply
could place your company on New Business Hold (NBH). Additionally, I would request that each supplier
partner review your internal quality processes and procedures to ensure that you continue to drive to a
Zero Defect Strategy and ship parts that fully meet Dana’s requirements and specifications. In 2020,
Dana’s has seen an unprecedented amount of significant supplier quality concerns due to a lack of good
quality verification at our supplier level.

• Our supply base must be registered to the latest edition of IATF 16949 or ISO 9001.
• Suppliers must adhere to Dana’s Supplier Quality and Development Manual.
o You can find it on our website at: http://supplier.dana.com/sdmanual/index
• Quality targets
o Zero Quality Incidents
o Zero Quality Defects Per Million Parts (PPM)
• Defect Free Product Launches
o Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) Process in place
o 100% 1st time, On Time, Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) acceptance
o 100% Safe Launch Process Compliance (SD110)
• Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
o Suppliers must complete a Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) according to AIAG
(Automotive Industry Action Group http://aiag.org) guidelines, unless otherwise specified in
the Purchase Order.
• Change Management
o Any change requested that deviates from the PPAP parts, needs to be handled through this
process.
o Suppliers are responsible for any and all damages or costs incurred by Dana and / or Dana’s
end customers for the suppliers’ failure to comply completely with the Dana Change
Management requirements.
• Supplier System Assessments
o Suppliers need to have an approved Dana audit in order to receive new business.
• Sub tier suppliers
o Suppliers must effectively manage their own suppliers to ensure the best quality, service and
value.
