Synthesis

Modular learning is one of the innovative teaching strategies that enable

the students to fulfill their needs. This helps the students to engage their critical thinking

and enhance their learning strategy in their own learning method. The capability of the

students to learn in their own accordingly has been fulfilled by this kind of learning

approach. The teacher’s role on this kind of learning set-up is to present the students

the guide to show the students how the lesson objective should be acquired. This helps

the students to engage their learning ability and understand the concept base on their

assessment on the modules given. The use of modular approach gives a flexible

learning environment where students are free to analyze deeply the module.

Modular teaching is concerned on the individual goal of the students to learn in

their own pace. In this kind of self-learning strategy, they are known to have a better

performance rather than in a normal setup. According to Ali, R. et al. (2020), the

application of the modular approach has proven that students have a positive result

towards their academic performance using the modular learning approach.

Currently, there are institutions in the Philippines that use the Modular learning

approach to assess the student’s outcomes. Supplementary materials are used to

understand the learning concepts. The effectiveness and the assessment of the

outcomes, the institution is given exercises to practice the knowledge acquired. In

modular teaching approach, students have the variety to use their time freely. Modules

have to consider a content that has a clear explanation and practice of the learning
Learning materials are a support vessel for students to the learning process and

learning objectives through their educational span. Learning materials contains specific

sources for learning to be an effective instrument in enhancing the student’s learning

process. The development of learning materials is subject to deliver the objective of

education. Without significant learning materials, there is a limit of what a teacher can

impart on their students. Learning materials should highlight the designated objective

and the learning outcome for the students to be achieved.

Using Gagne’s Theory of Nine Events of Instruction, of the learners are subject to

improve. It engages the student’s fundamental learning of the students. Learners are

properly being guided while the concept formation process is in progress. The learners

are provided regular feedback regarding their learning progression towards

Mathematics. The students are given frequent use of assessment in order to practice

and master the learning of the module. The effectiveness of events purely rested on the

learner achievements on Mathematics.
