Senior management is not such as involved in decision making of Samsung. Managers are given
freedom to make decision.

 Employees are committed with their work

Samsung has consistently tweaked ways to effectively manage its workforce. The idea of the
organization is to effectively balance the work and life of employees by providing them a flexible
time schedule and cutting off unnecessary overtime. In case of emergencies, they are provided
with work from home luxury. This effectively increase their commitment and loyalty to the
organization. This is the reason; I gave them five score.

 Work Force Diversity

Samsung have a diversity program which focuses on recruiting the


employees locally and internationally. They have anti-discrimination policy
which focuses on team work and activities. The main focus on of their policy
is globalization and that is the reason they hire international talent. This is
the reason I gave them five score.
 Talented Employees

When it comes to hiring new talent, Samsung has a multi-pronged approach


with heavy emphasis on targeted hiring. Approximately 50 to 60 percent of their
hires are direct-sourced. They do not just wait for the right candidate to apply
for the job. We seek out candidates with the education, skills and experience
that are necessary for effectively performing their role. When researching a
candidate, they use professional social media and networking sites like LinkedIn
to ensure we’re targeting the right candidates and reference employee referral
programs. To provide students and potential employees with the right skills to
succeed at Samsung, we’ve implemented fantastic university summer internship
programs, an MBA Leadership Development Program and Global Opportunities.

 Succession Plan based on long term

Samsung is family-owned organization. Lee Jae Young the successor of Lee Kun Hee joined the
organization in 2001, but employee thinks he’s unproven. He is facing trials for allegation of
bribery and accounting trickery for unsmooth succession. This is result of improper succession
plan by Samsung.

 Leadership Development

At Samsung Electronics, managers have an opportunity to develop personal leadership skills that
play an important role in everyday business operations. Managers are taught the differences
between leadership and management; explore leadership experiences and analyze the meaning
of values in management. Different opportunities are given to employees to enhance their
learning curve by different seminars and career development programs
