We often hear people say, “I need more direction in my life.”Setting personal goals can give your life a sense
of direction. It´s a technique used by top athletes and successful business people in all fields.Before you set
personal goals,think about what you want to achieve with your life.
Try to set goals in some of the following categories:
Work and Career: What level do you want to get in your career?
Do you want to get a part-time job?
Family: What kind of relationship do you want with your mother,father,
brother,sister,grandparents,cousins?
Spiritual:Do you want to inprove your faith in a religion?Do you want to attend mass?Do you want to
start mindfulness?
Financial: How much money do you want to earn?
Mind/Intellect: Is there any knowledge you want to get?What information do yo need?
Physical/Health:Do you want to be healthier?Do you want to get fit?
Personal/Social:Do you want to spend more time outdoors?Do you want to take part into an NGO or a
youth club?
Think about them carefully.Are they realistic?
Remember,your goals can change with time.Adjust them regularly to reflect this growth in your
personality.Be sure your goals are things you hope to achieve,not what your parents,spouse,family,or
teachers want.
