“TO IMPLEMENT A LAW THAT GIVES RECOGNITION TO THE SIGNIFICANCE OF

CIVIL ENGINEER IN DESIGN, SUPERVISION, AND CONSTRUCTION OF LOW-RISE


STRUCTURES “

Abstract

The case study intends to propose a law that acknowledges the


importance of Civil Engineers in the design, supervision, and construction of all
infrastructures, especially for the low-rise buildings. Nowadays, Civil Engineers
are being neglected in the construction of low-rise buildings. With this, the safety
of the occupants is being put to risk due to Non-Engineered structure design.
Also, a Civil Engineer practioner is knowledgeable of the whereabouts of any
structure.

In the Philippines, most residential buildings are built without a Civil


Engineer. Only in Marikina is where structure, even a low-rise, is not allowed to
be built without a Civil Engineer. The law is supposed to be applicable in all parts
of the Philippines.

Problems:

 What kind of law that gives recognition to the significance of Civil Engineer in
design, supervision and construction of low - rise structure.
 How to practice the profession in building low – rise structures.
 Knowing the importance of Civil Engineers in planning and facilitating the
construction.
