To Whom It May Concern:

I supervised Tate Stuart during his year-long student internship in a diverse 3rd
classroom at Endeavor Elementary School in Kentwood, Michigan. Tate
experienced teaching both virtually and in-person in a self-contained classroom
alongside an experienced mentor teacher.

Tate worked hard to develop strong relationships with each of his students. These
relationships help build trust among the students, creating a positive and supportive
classroom environment. Supported by a district-wide initiative and training, Tate has
experience meeting the social and emotional needs of his students

As his field instructor, through recorded observations, I observed Tate teaching

whole group, small group, and collaborating with his mentor teacher. Tate also
planned regularly with the 3rd grade teaching team including assisting other teachers
with the set-up of virtual learning. Tate worked hard to create lessons that fulfilled
the state standards and curriculum requirement of the district. He was clear in his
lesson objectives, including behavior expectations. Tate was brave in his lesson
planning and willing to try new ideas. He also is strongly committed to presenting
culturally relevant and sustaining pedagogy in his classroom.

In summary, I believe Tate has had a successful student-teaching experience. He is

logical and enthusiastic. His strengths are many, and he is anxious to analyze and
College of
change any weaknesses he discovers. Tate was open to all teaching suggestions and
consistently took the time to reflect on his abilities. Tate will be a hardworking and

successful elementary teacher focused on student learning and I give him my solid
recommendation.
