Outline ideas
● Age group: 2nd -4th graders (6-9 years old)
○ Concrete, egocentric thought. Hard to conceptualize remote future
○ Kohlberg: Role Conformity, supposedly has desire to follow rules and please
○ Erickson: Industry vs Inferiority, Compete and cooperate with others and can complete tasks
○ Frued: Latency, characterized by sexual indifference: self esteem is linked to industry
● Presentation ideas (20-30 minutes)
○ Initial presentation of info with poster (12 min)
■ Describe food types, provide examples
■ Pictures & examples of foods
■ MyPlate diagram
■ Audience participation - “Who can name a protein source?”
○ Include activity: Coloring myplate in small groups, sorting of foods (10 min)
○ Q&A to complete presentation (5 min)
○ Provide materials to take home? Printed sheets outlining info, food pantry, and nutrition apps
