The Importance of the English language


1. Vasile Alexandri once said: ‘Language is the most valuable treasure children inherit
from their parents. It is the most sacred thing that passes from generation to generation.” These
words confirm the idea that people should speak and cherish their language. Language is not
only a means of communication; through it we express our feelings, joys and sorrows. The
language evolves naturally as for instance, a small kid absorbs his mother tongue gradually
hearing it from his parents without being imposed.
2. If we follow the evolution of the English language we will find out that it traces back its
origin to the 5th century A.D. ,the period of time when Anglo-Saxon Germanic tribes conquered
England.
3. Nowadays it is a language spoken in English -speaking countries, Europe, and almost in
every corner of the world. The person who knows this language indeed has a priority; moreover, no
matter which country he travels to, he will meet no barriers in communicating with foreigners. In
some other countries it is used as a second language. This is a way in which people who speak
different languages communicate with each other.
4. Today more and more people speak and learn English for personal purposes. The majority
are convinced that English will help them benefit at their work, as lots of domains are somehow linked
with the level of competence of knowing English. As for example, scholars, scientists, pilots, sailors
and flight attendants are obliged to have a good command of English as it is regarded as the
international language.
5. The role of this language can hardly be exaggerated as its contribution to global
understanding is enormous. Thus English helps people communicate with each other, arrange
business affairs, make science investigations and invent new technologies. Furthermore, English
is the language of foreign policy, world economy and other aspects at the international level.
English is spread almost in every country all over the world. This language has become extremely
popular among nowadays youngsters as the majority of them recognize its paramount
importance. That is the reason why teenagers learn it at school and even attend additional
English courses for achieving better understanding and having good performance of English. If we
take into consideration our country we will certainly remark that every school offers the chance
to study English in order to possess at least general knowledge of it.
6. For the Moldovan population it is a good perspective to know English especially today
when our state follows the idea of joining the European Union. Moreover, if you know English you
have more chances to get a well-paid job in our country or overseas. Therefore, being able to
freely express ideas displaying in this way communicative competence of English is an
indisputable advantage these days.

language.

Albert Einstein is a well-known scientist and extraordinary genius personality known by
almost all of us all over the world due to his great inventions and contributions towards
science. He quoted that success is a failure in progress and someone who has never failed

He was not even able speak fluently till the age of nine. Moreover his admission to Zurich
Polytechnic School was also not considered. But, leading to the ways of success consistently
he proved himself as a renowned gem in the ocean of science and technology and
finally had won the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1921.
