Fuel is a material that reacts with other substances to release energy such as heat. The

amount of energy from different fuels depends on stoichiometric ration. This is the precise air

and fuel ration that ensures complete combustion of fuel. Fuels differ in different aspects such as

their heat value, physical state, fuel material and their safety of use. The composition of these

fuels creates a significant difference between them and determines the type best recommended to

provide clean energy.

The most important benefit of hydrogen fuel is that it is renewable, which means it can

create sustainable energy efficiency and in a cost-efficient manner. Its compressed nature implies

that it can be produced on demand. Hydrogen is the most dangerous fuel among the four fuel

types with an extremely high combustion value. The combustion rates make it burn at wide

concentrations which can cause severe impacts. Hydrogen compromises the safety of a region

because it can cause an explosion. Although it is recommended for domestic use, through the

hydrogel fuel cells, it stands as a highly explosive energy option.

Petrol, liquid fuel is easier to store as it uses little storage space. The combustion of the

fuel is also uniform because of its liquid state. Transportation of liquid fuel is also easier and

cheaper. The disadvantage of the fuel is that it is non-renewable energy because of its crude

material. Petrol’s liquid state makes it burn with a fair degree of ease and attain high

temperatures fast, and its firing can be easily controlled. The crude component of the fuel also

makes it produce carbon dioxide and scientifically contribute to air pollution. The liquid nature

of the fuel makes it more flammable and safety risk when not stored in a best-recommended

manner.

Compressed natural gas burns clearer compared to traditional petrol fuel. The CNG does

not pose any danger of contamination of the groundwater when it leaks because it is non-toxic.

Cars running on CNG gas prove to be quieter than gasoline and results in less noise pollution.

The renewable biogas nature of the fuel makes it cleaner and healthier to use as it has little

chances of pollution. The compressed nature of CNG makes it need a sacrifice for space such as

tanks for efficient storage of the fuel as the compression makes it heavier.

Gasoline is considered a safe fuel because it is less poisonous than the other fuels in the

list. The liquid nature of the fuel also makes it easier to store and transport. The high heat value

indicates that it can burn easily and in extreme cases, cause severe consequences. The liquid

nature makes the fuel burn uniformly and easier to control. However, the crude component from

the gasoline makes it a significant contributor to pollution. The crude fuel components indicate

possibilities of the existence of different hydrocarbons in different saturations of 4 to 12 carbon

atoms per molecule.

Hydrogen is the most recommended clean energy fuel than the traditional combustion-

based engines. Fuel cells with the electronic motor are more efficient than internal combustion

engines. It can also serve well for the internal combustion engines. The clean nature of hydrogen

is also because when the fuel burns, it produces water vapor which is not harmful to the human

population. The other fuels have traces of hydrocarbons which count as possible pollutants.
