It follows the rules of syntax (sentence structure).

To understand the sentence structure of a simple sentence, we must
have a general understanding of its parts below:

It is stated that a simple sentence is a sentence that contains a subject

and a predicate.
Subject + Predicate = Sentence

Subject – refers to a person, place, or a thing (noun) being talked

about, described, or the doer of the action. A subject can be a noun
or a pronoun. A noun can be common or proper.

Example:
person – mother, father, girl, boy (common noun)
Ana, Alex, Lita, Lito (proper noun)

place – home, market, plaza, church, farm (common noun)

Villaflor, Oroquieta City, Aloran, (proper noun)

thing – ball, table, tree, flower, pencil, bag (common noun

Sampaguita, Narra, Mongol (proper noun)

Adjective – is a describing word
Example: big, long, small, fast, tall, short, far, happy, sweet

Adverb – describes an action

Common example: slowly, brightly, gracefully, quickly, clearly

Object - any noun or pronoun that receives the action

4
Example: Alex throws the ball on the net. (net is an object)
Ana gives the broom to me. (me is an object)

Simple subject – means there is only one subject

Simple predicate – means there is only one predicate

Sample sentences:

1. Alex runs to the door.

The subject is Alex and the predicate is the verb runs. “Runs to the
door” is the complete predicate. This is a simple sentence because it
has a simple subject and a simple predicate expressing a complete
thought.

2. Mother cooks food.

The subject is Mother and the predicate is the verb cooks. “cooks
food” is the complete predicate. This is a simple sentence because it
has the simple subject and the simple predicate.

3. Ana is polite.
The subject is Ana and the predicate is the adjective polite. This is a
simple sentence because it has the simple subject and the simple
predicate.
