Weekly Journal #5
Throughout this week at the LEC, things have been pretty great so far. On Monday, We
did morning workouts with the guys then the interns and I hosted a 3 hour event that we call
“Monday Madness” which is activities that we brain storm and use our creativity so that they
enjoy their day and leave zoom with a smile on their face. The people on zoom are done at 12 on
Mondays so we were with the guys ad girls at the LEC the rest of the day. There aren’t that many
people there on the first day of the week so we just focused on scheduling. We had a meeting
with Abigail Hasty to talk more about our project and we will meet weekly. On Tuesday it was
back to a normal routine. We had morning workouts with the guys and some personal training
with individuals. After training I hosted a drumming class for an hour then ate lunch with the
girls. After lunch we hosted charades for brain games and I did it with the people on zoom. On
Wednesday we did the same thing such as morning workouts and personal training with the
practicum students. After workouts I did some paper work and did some smaller activities with
the girls. I then ate lunch with them and got prepared for brain games. For brain games that day
we did a game called 10 strikes which is a combination of wheel of fortune and hangman. I think
that they enjoy that game for sure. On Thursday we did the morning workouts and joined into
some activities such as sit and be fit and some arts and crafts. For lunch time, Jay and Paige
would like for one of the interns to eat lunch and host social hour with the people online so I did
Thursday. For social hour I talked about animals and other fun little things as they ate lunch and
talked. After lunch I got ready for wheel of fortune and they all enjoyed that games. On Friday, it
was a more relaxing day. There were less people because of the weekend so we were with the
girls the most because the guys went on a field trip. Some of the girls went on a trip too so we
stayed behind and watched the others and did a art activities that involved making a small pot out
of clay. We ate lunch with the girls then got prepared for brain games. For brain games that day
we did Pictionary and the interns and I took turns drawing and they guessed what our drawings
were. It was a good activity to end the day and it was a fun day for sure. This week was exciting
and fun and I can’t wait to continue my internship at the Life Enrichment Center.
