Nursing Research Improves Care

Nurses and student nurses just like us must learn how to find, read, critique, and apply
nursing research. Because new information is constantly being discovered, it is critical that
student nurses understand the value of research. Nursing research advances information about
health and health promotion across the lifespan, as well as the care of people with health
problems and disabilities, and nursing interventions to improve people's capacity to respond
effectively to existing or anticipated health issues. The American Association of Colleges of
Nursing claims that rigorous nursing research contributes to a body of knowledge that aids in the
advancement of nursing practice. The results of such scientific research may also be used to help
shape health policy and improve global healthcare. Research's overall aims are to prevent disease
and disability, reduce disease-related pain and symptoms, and improve palliative and end-of-life
care.

There are a lot of good effects that nursing research has. As the American Association of
College of Nursing stated above, one of the outcomes of nursing research is innovation and
development, which plays a significant role in the area of nursing. Nursing research also helps
nurses determine effective best practices and improve patient care by studying and researching a
certain problem. In addition to that, peer-reviewed study findings can help to clear up old
misconceptions, open the way for new treatment regimens, and develop new methods, all of
which enhance patient outcomes. By the help of nursing theories, it is more possible to have
successful nursing research because it gives nurses the opportunity to organize principles that
will help evaluate patient care and improve the nursing interventions based on the evaluation
findings.

In the video presented, It clearly shows the importance of nursing research by giving a
good example of their hospital experiences. Nursing is also more able to adapt to changes in the
healthcare environment, patient populations, and government regulations as a result of research.
Nursing practice continues to evolve as researchers uncover new discoveries. Because the
knowledge students learn may rapidly become outdated, keeping up with new advances in
nursing can help graduates advance in their professions. An example of a successful nursing
research study is that we have different technology used in the hospital area such as a mercury
thermometer that was lately replaced by digital thermometers. Digital thermometers can read
temperatures faster and with high accuracy compared to mercury thermometers. Aside from that,
the display is easy to read, isn't expensive and does not require any special maintenance. In this
example, it really demonstrates the purpose, importance and outcomes of conducting nursing
research in the healthcare field.
Nursing research may be quite long. It may cost us a lot of time, money and effort but
imagine how research works in order to determine which therapies are most effective for
patients, which is the best care to give. Research may address knowledge gaps and change the
way healthcare practitioners operate by providing solutions to previously unknown questions.
Research in the simplest way makes questions answered, make our life better, easier and more
simple.
