Weekly Journal #6

Throughout this week, it has been fun but also interesting. On Monday, we had our

normal morning workouts with the guys then we had Monday madness that lasted for 3 hours.

Those 3 hours consisted of doing origami, providing information about black history month, and

some fun activities at the end with everyone. After Monday madness we ate lunch with everyone

and continued the day with the them till they left. Tuesday we had our morning workouts and

then I had drumming with some of the girls and hosted it for the people on zoom. I then ate lunch

with everyone then got prepared for brain games which consisted of wheel of fortune. On

Wednesday we did our morning workouts then got ready to go to Huley Park with the girls

which is a park only half a mile away from the LEC. The other intern and I brought cornhole and

ladder ball with them and we ate lunch and played some games. After the park we had some

more brain games and enjoyed the rest of the day. On Thursday, we had our morning workouts

with the guys then we took a trip to the Worley Center. This place was more of a camp ground

that had hiking trails, fishing, and other outdoor things. The guys and I went fishing and only one

person caught a fish. After fishing we had some lunch and the other intern and I had to head back

to get prepared for brain games. For brain games the girls ended up doing jeopardy and I would

move the iPad around to see if any of the girls knew the answers. On Friday, it was probably the

most interesting day so far. We had one of the guys do personal taining but ended up going with

the guys on a walk to Huley Park. After Huley park, we were told to wear double masks because

some of the people with I.D.D might have COVID. During lunch we were talking to Jay and
Barbara and they decided to shut down the LEC for a week and figure out all the covid results

from everyone. It has been interesting for sure but I hope everyone is okay. Next week will be

online and a new adjustment but hopefully it’ll all be okay and we will work as hard as we can to

help them with anything they are going through. I strive to make sure they enjoy themselves this

week and them smile and laugh throughout net week.
