The sky was downcast, it looked like it was going to rain. Nenad had gone to the
barber early to get a haircut. On the way home, he popped in the corner shop to buy
cigarettes for his uncle Marko. He was very excited to be seeing his uncle and had decided
to don his best suit. They were just getting ready to leave for the train station when the
clock struck three.

The station was chock-full of people crowding the car to get to it faster. All of a
sudden, a train had emerged from the steam and stopped next to the very platform they
were standing on. A song could be heard from the car. Those young faces beaming with
some kind of internal gaiety should have been seen. It was as if they weren`t going to war!

Nenad was frightened because all of those young soldiers resembled each other. It
occurred to him that maybe they won`t recognize Marko. What was to happen if they
don`t notice him?Nenad faced the dilemma of what to say to his uncle, despite the fact that
he was readying for this opportunity for days. It would have been much easier for him had
he not been surrounded by such a huge crowd.
