Introduction

Throughout this presentation I will be focused on identifying the challenges that the health care industry
is currently facing. Communication is one of the many challenge’s administrators struggle with daily.
Major points I will be discussing will include technology advancements, ethical issues within the
workplace and staffing challenges. The world is changing everyday, there are always new patients, new
technology and new ways of learning. Do not let todays challenges stop you from making a difference
tomorrow.

Technology advancements

The practice of medicine and technology has effortlessly changed the opportunities and challenges health
care providers encounter everyday. If we were to compare healthcare and technology used now verse
back in the day the amount of progress the industry has made is astonishing. Digital advancement in
healthcare is changing the way we help people and getting them the care, they need not to mention getting
things done faster and more effectively which means helping more people. Technology advancements in
healthcare has no limits and I certainly cannot wait to see what the future holds .

Staffing Challenges

A medical administrator is responsible for hiring staff in many cases and it is important they know how to
choose candidates that will not resign soon after starting. There is a massive shortage in administrators
right now so being poorly trained is just one of the many challenges they face. It is important to hire the
right number of staff so that people are not being over worked and coordinate the training so that
everyone is on the same page. Administrators want to ensure all their clients are taken care of to the best
of their ability, but these staffing challenges are making it extremely hard to do achieve that.

Ethical Issues

Most administrative assistants must deal with a lot of personalities coming in and out of the office.
Generally, most people are pleasant, while others can be ticking time-bombs full of compressed anger,
ready to unleash on the medical administrator. When dealing with a difficult personality, it is important to
stay calm and help the client to the best of your ability regardless of their attitude towards you. By
providing trust and reassuring the angry individual that all will be resolved as soon as possible than you
are not only giving the customer what they want but you are doing your job to the best of your ability.

Conclusion
Overall, there are always challenges that you will have to overcome in any workplace. It comes down to
rising above to be the best you can be despite the hard times and uncomfortable situations.
