PRODUCT CREATED: LAMP SHADE

MATERIALS: DISPOSABLE SPOONS, PAINT, BOTTLE, ALUMINUM STICK,

PLYWOOD, GLUESTICKS, BULB, WIRE, SWITCH, PLUG.

Our group choose to create lamp shade out of the disposable spoons that we

collected, the reason behind this is; first it is useful it is not just a typical DIY project, you can

use it in different places not just in your room or even in your house. Second, We’re big fans

of home decor and we can’t stress enough how important it is to personalize a space to truly

make it feel like you belong there. This project idea came from internet, but our group created a

design in a unique way based on our own creative style.

Project members use many plastic spoons, given that plastic takes several hundred

years to dissolve, we decided we would do something with used plastic. Particularly in our place

were everyday we use plastic spoons and we cannot deny the fact that we need to be creative

enough to turn this materials into something exciting yet useful.

We cut the plastic spoons and we uses the upper part of it, For one upcycling project,

students then painted the upper part of each bottle different colors and put an energy-saving bulb

inside the bottle. An energy-saving bulb is the finishing touch put inside each plastic bottle

lampshade when it is ready to light. Using sharp cutting knife, cut out the big hole in the bottom

of a plastic bottle.

Before you start this step, prepare the glue gun (turn it on) and cut the handles of all

your spoons. When the glue is hot, start gluing your spoon to the bottle. Do it over and over until

the whole bottle is covered with spoons.
