Task 2
A) Discuss the concept this initiative falls under. Use an organisation of your
choice as an example to show the obligations it performs to the society.

Both Toms and Starbucks are dedicated to CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) (CSR).
Corporate Social Responsibility is a management philosophy in which companies integrate
environmental and social concerns into their operations and relationships with stakeholders.
TOMS will donate one pair of shoes for every pair of footwear sold to a child who needs it.
"One for the other one" was the innovative idea, and they ensured that impoverished kids
multiple regions of the globe in the benefited from his company. A young and adult person who
wants an inexpensive and stylish couple of sneakers, might feel comfortable knowing that his
investment had assisted a needy kid in receiving a much-needed shoe for free. The expense of
the complimentary footwear was factored in the selling rate, resulting in a seemingly generous
gesture that nevertheless contributed to the company's profitability. Bixbee corporation primarily
offers backpacks, lunch boxes, etc. to children. They also use the buy-one-give-one formula to
ensure that social obligations are met. The hiring of 25,000 veterans of Starbucks is because
when transferring from military to civilian life, many veterans suffer financially. According to
Starbucks, they deserve to stick with Starbucks, and Starbucks wants them to stay with them
because they're natural leaders in their shops, know how to create community everywhere they
go, and are extremely passionate and dedicated to their work. An example of an organization that
follows the obligations to society is BMW company. It is first and foremost a committed and
active private citizen, funding over 100 various CSR services worldwide. HIV/AIDS, urban
economic building, and education are three primary areas of emphasis for these programs.

5
B) Explain the issues you are faced with and mention 5 rules the public and
your clients expect of you as an employee in the organisation.

Employees should be well-versed in the organization's rules and regulations. Otherwise, they
would be unable to follow the rules. I have started working for a company as an employee. But
I'm not sure what rules I'm supposed to follow. As a result, I'm having a lot of issues. I'm not
quite certain about what is expected of me in this organisation. I'm sometimes afraid to do certain
things. I've already received one negative feedback from the owner due to an unintentional
violation of one of the rules. Disagreeable circumstances arise between colleagues, which can
lead to unpleasant working environments. I'm having issues with discipline, management skills,
conduct and etc. Employees are expected to follow rules that have been established. However,
since I am unaware of the law, it would have a negative impact on the organisation.

As an employee, the public and my clients expect a lot of things from me. So, I have to follow all
the important rules. Five of them are discussed below:

1. Punctuality: An employee should be punctual at all times in any workplace. This is

beneficial to both the clients and the organization as a whole. Whether it is an opening of
a ceremony or any meeting, employees should always be punctual.
2. Dress Code: Employees should dress well for their jobs. Dressing well for the job makes
a positive impact. Much of the time, a standardized dress code is preferred. It impresses
clients, which helps the organisation as well.
3. Adaptability: Adaptability is a personal attribute that refers to the ability to quickly pick
up new strategies and behaviors in response to shifting situations. Someone who
possesses workplace adaptability is adaptable and capable of effectively adapting to their
working conditions, even though things don't go as planned.

6
4. Maintain communication: Employees should ensure open lines of contact with the
company's customers and employers. This law is very beneficial to the general public and
clients.

5. Follow ethics: I’m expected to complete the tasks without error. There are also ethics
that must be upheld in the workplace, and I must act responsibly to uphold them.

C) Describe the legal rights people have in relation to GDPR.

The Data Protection Act of 1998 governed the collection of personal data by all organisations,
including charities, whether public or private. The UK's data privacy regulations amended the
Data Protection Act 1998 in May 2018 to make it more applicable to how technology is used
now and to harmonise laws with The General Data Protection Regulation of the European Union
is a set of rules that govern how personal (GDPR). A few of the factors of (GDPR) are for
enabling people and giving them authority over their own data. The GDPR features a chapter on
data subjects' (individuals') rights, which incorporates the right to entry, the authority over
rectification, the authority over erasure, the authority over limit processing, the authority to data
portability, the authority to object, and the authority not to be subjected to a judgment based
solely on automatic processing. All has the right to have private details about themselves
protected. Such information must be processed equally for specific reasons either with the
consent of the individual involved, or on some other legal basis. All has the right to know what
data has been gathered on them, as well as the right to have it corrected. These laws must be
followed. Compliance with these laws would be monitored by a third-party supervisor.

Task 3
Report
The Importance of teamwork and working collaboratively

In an organisation, collaboration and teamwork are highly necessary. This has the additional
advantage of raising an organization's profits and enhance its current appearance. The combined
ability of a group endeavor to achieve a common goal or complete a mission in perhaps the most
cost-effective and responsive manner possible is known as teamwork. Teamwork becomes
necessary for successful working relationships. Partnering on a task or job with one or more
participants, as well as creating ideas or methods, is what collaboration entails. Collaboration
refers to partnering on a mission or job with one or more participants, as well as developing ideas
or processes. Collaboration happens in the workplace as two or more individuals collaborate
together to achieve a shared purpose that benefits the team or organisation.

The ability to exchange information with different partners is the most important aspect in a
collaborative workplace. Employee collaboration allows employees to break down challenging
tasks into smaller chunks, and collaborate to complete them more quickly and acquire
specialized skills. Communication, collaborations, and information sharing are all aided by
collaborative functioning. Since there is no hierarchy, everyone on the team is on the same page.
Everybody will express their thoughts and opinions, partnerships are horizontal, and there is a
sense of shared obligation. Time savings, stability, innovation, improved workplace climate,
network sharing, enhanced efficiency, and shared responsibility are all advantages of
collaborative working. I would implement some strategies. Recite the company's goal many
times. I will make my teamwork expectations clear. Specific strengths of the employees should
be described and communicated. One of my strategies is to encourage a collaborative working
climate as an employee. I will make sure to encourage free and truthful contact, also encourage
our perceptions to go wild. Awareness, experience, and resources can all be shared. Make an

8
investment in teamwork software. When working in a team and collaboratively in an
organization, values are highly significant. The values that I believe I obtain and that will lead
me through this phase are: dependability, continuity, commitment, the ability to see outside the
box, Sincerity, effectiveness, ingenuity imagination, good sense of humor, compassionate the
spirit of exploration, inspiration, positive thinking, positivity, bravery, perseverance. When it
comes to teamwork, certain interpersonal skills are inherently needed. Verbal and nonverbal
communication, negotiation, problem-solving, decision-making, and assertiveness are also
qualities that can be learned. When compared to solo work, collective wisdom makes much
quicker progress and completes far more projects. Simply put, two, three, or ten brains are
superior to one. By combining different people's talents, knowledge, and expertise, you will
boost performance, imagination, growth, and productivity. One can also finish the tasks on
schedule and under budget. In the event of a rapid transition, collaboration and teamwork make
for greater reactivity and flexibility. As a result, collaborators see these improvements as
obstacles to solve. Colleagues can naturally get to know each other better when working
together. It encourages them to interact, strengthen their bonds, and enjoy each other's work.
Workplace tensions decrease as true harmony and team spirit grow. To the community, everyone
can add their experience, abilities, and skills. They also provide fresh solutions that aid in the
resolution of their tough challenges, allowing their ventures to go forward. The trick to
successful collaborative working within a company is to get everyone involved in the project up
to the same organizational standard. In favor of a horizontal control scheme, vertical hierarchy
fades out. I will study and evaluate organizational processes, strategies, and activities, such as,
monitoring success, job advancement, remuneration and incentives, recruiting, grievances,
administrative cases, compensation, employees engagement, and learning and growth, in order to
encourage equity and diversity. Equal and open operations will help to promote and show
equality. Workplace collaboration has been shown to speed up project execution times.

To appreciate the value of teamwork, one must first comprehend the ramifications of bad
collaboration in the workplace. The ability to exchange information with different partners is the
most important aspect in a collaborative workplace. Poor workplace collaboration decreases
efficiency, competitiveness, and earnings. Data must be readily accessible and exchanged
through the supply chain for teams to communicate effectively. Projects and team work
contribute to the overall corporate plan. The people won't be able to implement plans if they

9
don't have the right resources. At the end of the cycle, the negative consequences of this
partnership risk would be seen in the data. Employees can devote a significant amount of time to
the collaboration framework. Morale and team bonding may be harmed if the experience is
difficult or counterproductive. People get overwhelmed as their resources fail to assist them in
completing their tasks or achieving their personal career objectives. Collaboration in the
organization has been found to minimize job completion times. It also means the exchange of
sensitive information and access to internal processes. Whenever it comes to escaping these
hazards and maintaining your safety, other issues associated with bringing teams to work
together productively, the best teamwork tools will make a difference. Teamwork is one of the
most major factors of any organisation that will contribute to its growth. Collaborative practice is
an essential aspect of teamwork. These two items should be valued and developed by any
organisation.
