Why Masters in Additive engineering:

One of the memories of my childhood I deeply cherish is that of my first day in school. I
distinctly remember my eyes watering as my parents bade me good-bye leaving me in an
alien environment. We were made to draw pictures of familiar objects, my teacher recited
rhymes in a soothing voice, and by the end of the day, I began to love school. I was fortunate
to have begun with good early education and as I grew, my interests and ability were inclined
towards the physical nature of the universe. Science unraveled many a mystery for me math-
challenged me and gave me joy. Learning itself became key to my life.

My respect for education and inclination towards applied science drove me to opt for maths,
physics, and chemistry in my higher secondary education. After completing high school, I felt
that Engineering would be the area, which would allow me to learn and explore how the
fundamentals of science are applied to create technology for practical and real purposes.
Moreover, my innate strengths have always been creative abilities and the power of
imagination; which made me take up a discipline that would allow me to channel them in the
best possible way. Thus, Mechanical engineering was a direct consequence of my convictions.
Subjects like Computer programming, Machine Drawing Manufacturing Process, CAD/CAM,
Machine Design, Kinematics & Dynamics of Machines, Applied Thermodynamics, Control
Engineering, Finite Element Analysis, etc., revealed to me limitless horizons in the field of
Mechanical Engineering.
We are standing at a juncture where the need of the hour is propelling technological
developments that address our environmental and energy needs. With a keen interest in
next-generation technology, which is 3d printing, Until recently, engineers were trained to
think in a particular way (traditional methods) which restricts creativity in dimensional
design. Traditionally speaking, engineers produce design drafts for manufacturing processes
under already available designs.

Internal channels, fillet placement and undercuts present great design limitations when and if
conventional methods are used for manufacturing purposes. Moreover, the products thus
obtained are not as innovative as those obtained from 3D printing methods. The beauty of 3D
printing is that it can be used to produce complicated and complex shapes and geometry
objects that are difficult to achieve using orthodox methods of manufacturing.

Future Potential of Additive Manufacturing in Digital Engineering

Digital engineering has a bright and bold future ahead as the benefits and efficiencies offered
by Additive manufacturing are becoming more common among the general population. As
the world becomes more digitized and integrated with computers, there are credible chances
shortly that innovative technologies will be applied to manufacturing techniques in ways the
world has never experienced before. Future generations will witness design customization
from the digital factories established within their vicinity. Manufacturing organizations will
have to evolve, as traditional manufacturing will become nonexistent in the future.
Companies will have to adopt digital engineering practices, such as additive manufacturing,
to survive in a highly competitive marketplace.

Throughout my school and undergraduate education, I have been a keen participant in extra-
curricular activities. Getting elected as the School Vice President at 10th grade and Sports
secretary at 8th grade helped me hone my organizational and interpersonal skills. At SVVN, I
have been involved in the school kabaddi team and we also were the district zone champions
in the year 2009.

Hailing from India, a land of richness, one can expect from me the richness of Indian culture
which thrives on ‘unity in diversity’. I can contribute to the class in ways more than one. I
would like to share my views, with an open mind, with my classmates on what I have
understood of India, Her People, Her Culture, and Her Politics, as an Indian and as a student.

I strongly feel that the Master of Science in Additive Engineering program from the
University Of Central Lancashire is a highly structured program because it provides the
right balance between theory and Research. It would give me ample opportunities to apply
my knowledge in research-related platforms and test it on real-world problems. I write to
you with the earnestness that my background and qualifications will be found suitable for
admission to this prestigious program from your University. I am confident that I will do
proud of your Institute.
In the future, I see myself as a committed professional who wants to make a difference. To
achieve this, I would like to gain exposure to cutting-edge technologies in the area of
AdditiveEngineering. On completion of the course, I would like to continue by pursuing
Research and Development in this field and contribute significantly to fields related to viable
technologies that are energy-efficient and cost-effective.

Why UK:
The UK is one of the world’s most popular destinations to study higher education. Going to
university in the UK is a great way to enhance knowledge, meet new people, and experience a
new culture. You’ll get plenty of support at university, and a chance to experience a great
student lifestyle. Whatever your interests, there's a huge range of clubs and societies, as well
as a diverse social life.

UK higher education degrees and qualifications are recognized by employers and academics
worldwide. Students get the opportunity to develop the skills, knowledge, critical thinking,
and connections to drive forward their careers.

UK's national quality assurance system is unique both in its structure and its rigor.
International students, and even their parents, enjoy an unparalleled level of service and
financial protection. The country is committed to providing quality education to students of
the national or international. The UK Quality Training Framework has been set up by the
government to strengthen the quality assurance processes in education. The UK provides the
world's most meticulous protection for international students.

Why not India:

In the process in India for a Masters's program, one has to clear entrance exams and another
hurdle is the prevailing reservations system, as programs are theory-based and not focusing
on practical and the lack of research institutions is a major drawback to pursue higher
education in India. Even we have Quota System here in India, which leads to limited seats for
the general quota and even high competition in getting admission. When we look into the
Infrastructure, Faculty, Professional accreditations, Multicultural environment, etc we can
compare any of those things with studies in India and those are the few reasons why I chose
not to study in India apart from the brighter career opportunities with a foreign degree. The
courses are not industry-focused and institutes have no industry tie-ups for internships
towards student's overall skill development toward employability. The culture of work while
you learn is not yet fully understood in India, this does not provide for hands-on experience
while studying.
Though India is a multi-cultural society, the presence of international students in our
universities is low compared to other countries. This does not provide any exposure to
various conditions in which we can hone our skills and sharpen our senses. Hence, studying
abroad opens up avenues for me to explore and imbibe a practical skill through a pragmatic
approach.
Career objective:
To matriculate in a challenging and stimulating university that allows me to improve my
potential and knowledge. Also seeking a quality environment where my knowledge can be
shared for mutual benefit and growth.

Reasons for Returning to home country:

After the Masters's, I would like to come back to my home country. I have close ties and
responsibilities in my country moreover I worked in India for more than 3 years and with a
UK degree, I can get well-paid and challenging jobs which would be very helpful to get more
insight into the industry. My dream is to set up my own software company for that I need to
get more knowledge and understand the market in my country.
Request:
I would like to conclude by saying that university education in the UK is a life-changing
opportunity, with a lot of challenges, experiences, and diverse opportunities. Doing my
Master's from there will not only provide a good experience but will help me in learning
things in a diverse environment. My studies in the UK will be both challenging and interesting
for a person like me, to explore new avenues and achieve a balance between life and work.
This opportunity would be of immense value if I get through the process into admission and I
would treat it with the utmost respect and fulfill all the requirements for as long as I am in the
UK.
