The industry of 3D Printing

Unfortunately this will be one of our final posts for our blog and I we have decided to discuss
and explain the evolution of the 3D printing industry and I will also be discussing the demand
for 3D printing in some of the different industries. With 3D printing being a fairly new
technology it is becoming a lot more popular in in many different industries but not only is 3D
printing becoming more popular 3Dprinters and materials now becoming a lot more attainable
and now are very simple to use. You are now able to get a high end 3D printer that is simple to
use for around two hundred and fifty euro and all you need is a computer. People are now
using 3D printers in their homes for things as simple as personal hobbies or even for small
businesses and entrepreneurial endeavors. 3D printing and 3D printers have evolved a huge
amount over the past few years and is becoming more and more popular as there is constantly
new findings and breakthroughs and even more opportunities.
Upon research I came across information about opportunities within the 3D printing industry
and the size of the industry itself. (rivera,2019) discusses how the industry is growing at such a
huge annual rate of 25% and with such huge level of growth this means there is going to be
demand for people who are able to work these machines. There are many different jobs that
will be created by an industry such as 3D printing from jobs that don’t require a huge level of
qualification to jobs that may require expert qualification. It is said that there are about 9 main
jobs that are created with this industry boom in 3D printing and they all have different
requirements and Qualifications. Some of these jobs include research and development,
scientific modeling, architecture and construction, education ,aerospace , law firm designers, on
staff experts and operations and administrative positions. So with such a huge industry and
such a rapidly growing industry there are many different layers to the 3D printing industry
similar to any other industry.
According to (Thomas,2021) 3D printing is going to have a huge impact on the manufacturing
industry and it actually already has. In the early 2000s 3D printing started to become more and
more mainstream. At this stage more and more 3D printers were being produced and they
becoming cheaper and more attainable. At this time entrepreneurs were also starting to take
advantage of 3D Printers. After 2010 3D printers began to get a lot cheaper and then more and
more people started to demand 3D printers and there was a lot more facilitys and places where
you could get parts repaired on the printer or materials for the printers were now becoming
more and more available in shops. Now in 2021 it is anticipated that by 2024 the market
around the world for 3D printing may exceed over 40 Billion dollars.
