MODULE “A” : WAN configuration (Module for end user)
eWon devices make a secure outgoing VPN connection to the Talk2M®
servers. The outgoing used ports by the VPN connection can be: UDP 1194 o
TCP 443 (HTTPS). eWon is able to authenticate via HTTP proxy server.
eWon uses the OpenVPN standard (SSL 128bit).

The Talk2M® servers addresses for client software

(eCatcher) are:
ping.talk2m.com (87.98.150.3)
ecatcher.talk2m.com (87.98.150.4)
for eWon devices:
ewon.talk2m.com (87.98.150.6)

The WAN eWon ethernet port, which is connected to the

company LAN, can be configured both with static IP or
DHCP (dynamic IP).

WAN port configuration

DHCP Static IP
IP
Subnet
Gateway
DNS 1
DNS 2

In case of proxy authentication (HTTPS):

HTTP Proxy Server

Server (IP)
Port (e.g. 8080)
User
Password

Further information about eWon 2005 device at eWon web site (2005CD datasheet).

Note:
1) eWon2005 is a router, so the WAN subnet must be different from LAN subnet
2) eWon 2005 LAN subnet and the maintenance PC subnet must be different.
3) Maintenance PC and eWon must have a correct (approx) date/time, due to VPN certificate validation
4) eWon does not support authentication through proxy java. In this case we suggest to open, on the firewall/gateway, a
UDP port for eWon. eWon supports NTLM proxy since firmware 5.6s3.
5) In case of VPN tunnelling blocking policy, we suggest to open, on the firewall/gateway, a UDP port for eWon

9
