a) The fourth term of an A.P. is 11 and the eighth term exceeds twice the fourth term by 5. [3]
Find the A.P. and the sum of 50 terms
b) In the given figure AD is the diameter of the circle with centre 0. AD is parallel to BC [3]
and ÐCBD= 320. Find:
i) ÐOBD ii) Ð AOB iii) Ð BED

c) Three vertices of a parallelogram ABCD taken in order are A (3, 6), B (5, 10) and [4]
C (3 , 2 ) , find:

i) The coordinates of vertex D

a) When the two polynomials x3 – px2 + x +6 and 2x3 – x2 – ( p + 3 )x – 6 are divided by [3]
(x – 3), the remainder is same. Find the value of p.

b) Prove that tan2θ = 1 + cosθ [3]

b) Find the value of k for which the given equation has real and distinct roots. [3]

c) A girl fills a cylindrical bucket 32 cm in height and 18 cm in radius with sand. She [4]

empties the bucket on the ground and makes a conical heap of the sand. If the height

a) Priyanka has a recurring deposit account of Rs 1000 per month at 10% p per annum. [3]
If she gets Rs 5550 as interest at the time of maturity, find the total time for which the
account was held.
b) In triangle PQR , PQ = 24cm, QR = 7cm and ÐPQR = 900. Find the radius of the [3]
inscribed circle.
c) Find the point of intersection of the lines 4x + 3y = 1 and 3x – y + 9 = 0.If this point lies [4]
on the line ( 2k – 1 )x – 2y = 4 ; find the value of k

iii) If the salary of the senior employee is above Rs 11500, find the number of

senior employees.

iv) The upper quartile.

b) An aeroplane at an altitude of 250m observes the angle of depression of two boats on [4]
the opposite banks of the river to be 45º and 60º respectively. Find the width of the
river. Write the answer to the nearest whole number.

a) A shopkeeper buys an article from a manufacturer for 12,000 and mark-up it price by [3]

25%. The shopkeeper gives a discount of 10% on the marked up price and he gives a

further off season discount of 5% on the balance to a customer of TV .If GST is 12%

find :

i) the price paid by the consumer

ii) the amount of SGST paid by the shopkeeper

iii) the amount of tax received by the Central Government
