Dear Sir,
I am writing you this letter to inform your good office of my intention to apply for a
six (6) months STUDY LEAVE starting June 01 up to November 30 of this year.
During my leave I will be pursuing myself in preparation for the upcoming Bar Review
and Bar Examination scheduled this November 2021. I anchored my request for said
leave from Sec. 68 (I) and II (3) of CSC MR No. 21 series of 2004, which provides that:
The study leave is a time-off from work not exceeding six (6) months with pay for
qualified officials and employees to help them prepare for their BAR or board
examinations or complete their master's degree. And that the employee must have
rendered at least two (2) years of service with at least very satisfactory performance for
the last two rating periods immediately preceding the application;"
Also under RA 4670 sec. 24 of the MAGNA CARTA FOR PUBLIC SCHOOL
TEACHER, provides that: In addition to the leave privileges now enjoyed by teachers in
the public schools, they shall be entitled to study leave not exceeding one school
year after seven years of service. During the period of such leave, the teacher shall be
entitled to at least sixty (60%) percent of their monthly salary.
