Personal Philosophy of Leadership

I believe providing students with honest guidance, but also allowing for collaboration of

ideas to form a common consensus about a goal or any issue is grounds for my leadership

philosophy. Having leadership qualities that encompass creating a vision to improve students

educational and social aspects of life will benefit students thoroughly as an outcome. Respecting

myself and having integrity will help me produce a loyal, as well as, honest friendship or

relationship with students. Not only providing students with an organized climate and established

standards the same values accompany any other subordinate as well.

There are advancements happening all around us and providing students with up to date

knowledge in regard to technology or other media shows students that as a leader I am informed.

Being competent whether in terms of different cultures or being aware of various differences

amongst students or other subordinates creates an inclusive trustworthy environment for these

individuals. Therefore, allowing any subordinate to feel welcome and comfortable in discussing

any situation they need to discuss.

I put great emphasis on the importance of interpersonal skills: being patient, dependable,

providing motivation and a flexible environment, as well as, actively listening and showing

empathy. Leaders often run into situations that are hectic and interpersonal skills will help to

resolve these issues. I believe if you give respect you will get respect. Giving students or any

other subordinate a voice allowing for their opinion to be heard will show them what they have

to say is respected. Although I am a task oriented worker, I care exponentially in regard to what

other people are thinking and feeling throughout the course of any day. Providing any

subordinate with my leadership philosophy will hopefully make students and coworkers

passionate, happy, and excited about the work environment in which we all reside.
