cities a n d municipalities in delivering services that a c h i e v e positive results for children. T h e audit results s e r v e
a s b a s i s f o r t h e c o n f e r m e n t o f t h e S e a l o f C h i l d - F r i e n d l y L o c a l G o v e r n a n c e t h a t is a l s o l i n k e d w i t h t h e a n n u a l
Presidential A w a r d for Child-Friendly Cities and Municipalities.

In support o f t h e national g o v e r n m e n t ' s effort t o m a i n s t r e a m children's i s s u e s i n local g o v e r n a n c e , t h e

D e v e l o p m e n t A c a d e m y o f t h e P h i l i p p i n e s ( D A P ) - C e n t e r f o r G o v e r n a n c e , t h r o u g h its L o c a l G o v e r n a n c e a n d
D e v e l o p m e n t O f f i c e , i s o f f e r i n g a Basic Course on Child Rights-Responsive Governance on
November 22-24, 2016 a t t h e DAP Building in San Miguel Avenue, Pasig City.

T h i s B a s i c C o u r s e a i m s to e q u i p L G U s a n d o t h e r s t a k e h o l d e r s w i t h basic k n o w l e d g e a n d skills in developing

a n d i m p l e m e n t i n g local projects that appropriately respond t o the n e e d s a n d rights o f children t o survival,
development, protection and participation.

It w i l l f e a t u r e l e c t u r e s a n d d i s c u s s i o n o n i m p o r t a n t i s s u e s a f f e c t i n g c h i l d r e n , a s w e l l a s a p p r o a c h e s t o
m a i n s t r e a m i n g child rights i n local g o v e r n a n c e a n d d e v e l o p m e n t . R e p r e s e n t a t i v e s f r o m select L G U s
recognized for child rights p r o m o t i o n a n d protection shall s h a r e insights a n d e x p e r i e n c e s concerning best
practices, a s w e l l a s c h a l l e n g e s , in child r i g h t s - r e s p o n s i v e g o v e r n a n c e . T o e n a b l e t h e participants t o t r a n s l a t e
their k n o w l e d g e into specific initiatives, t h e c o u r s e will likewise h a v e lectures a n d w o r k s h o p exercises o n t h e
rudiments of designing and i m p l e m e n t i n g a child rights-responsive intervention.

W e a r e p l e a s e d t o i n v i t e y o u t o e n r o l l i n t h i s c o u r s e . T h e f e e p e r p a r t i c i p a n t is o f PHP 9,000, i n c l u s i v e o f V A T ,
a n d c o v e r s t h e training m e a l s , kits, instructional costs, a n d a D A P certificate. O t h e r e x p e n s e s , s u c h a s
a c c o m m o d a t i o n , travel, transportation, a n d dinner shall b e t h e counterpart of t h e participant.
