The issue of the importance of tourism to Vietnam has drawn much attention from

the people of concern. Many people say that leisure industry is necessary because
of its benefits. Persionally, I totally agree with this statement. (37)
In the first place, which I put priority is the employment opportunities for local
people. In other words the more tourists there are, the more job opportunities it
brings. It’s apparent that tourists spend a lot of money on a wide range of travel-
related services including services provided by hotels and restaurants (including
catering), travel agencies and tour operator services, tourist guide services and
other related services. Moreover, job opportunities in indirectly linked industries
whenever tourists travel and consume goods are also created such as taxi industry
and business owners. By and large, vacancy is one of the most important benefits
of tourism. (103)
In the second place, the growth in the income of the country holds no less
importance. It is obvious that tourism yields an additional income, greatly
supporting the country’s economy. For instance, foreign tourists of Vietnam
increase from 7.9 millions in 2015 to 18 millions in 2019. Vietnam continuously
becomes one of the countries which have the highest Gross Domestic Product of
tourism. This means that travel industry plays an importanct part in the growth of
the economy. Futhermore, country experiences an increase in revenue through the
taxes collected from tour businesses, hotels, restaurants,... Without doubt, tourism
is very necessary for economic growth. (103)
In conclusion, for all mentioned above, tourism is very important in many
countries, especially in Vietnam. It is highly recommened that government should
take my suggestion into consideration. (30)
